To know more about Ansh’s story, we spoke to his mother Anshul Batra.

Like many parents, Anshul Batra also struggled to access the right type of parenting, intervention and support for her child during his early years. He was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3. Let’s know more.

 

Excerpts from our conversation with her:

Tell us about his Journey so far:

He is just 12 years old with bright sparkling eyes. Ansh was diagnosed with Autism/ADHD when he was just three and a half years old.

His vocabulary and language skills are very limited because of autism but as they say, if God closes one door it shows light through the other. Ansh has found his calling in the world of Art.

He is extremely hyperactive by nature, Art is what brings calmness to his life. Ansh is a powerhouse of energy and Art is what makes him sit at a place.

When did you notice his talent?

You know, Parenting is not easy and when your child is hyperactive, it becomes all the more challenging. But then it actually teaches you a lot and you learn the real art of motherhood. I patiently tried to figure out the right way to channel his energy and out of an accident, I introduced him to colours- what unfolded next was plain magic. 

 

Now that he is such a beautiful artist, what are you plans for Ansh?

With the perseverance and guidance from his teacher and our support, Ansh is now working hard to hone his skills in painting.  

He has attended few exhibitions like Uchaan 2018, Aagman 2018, Dream-sphere April 2019, Canvas exhibition,  Inspiring art, an exhibition at Indian habitat his paintings have also found buyers both private and corporate giving rise to the hope that this could be a career for this academically and verbally challenged kid.

One of the very few sentences that he speaks is “Mujhe colour Karna hai” and it fills our hearts with joy every time he says it.

This is the true example of what we have been hearing all these years that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
