As part of this, we invited Alkha Puranik for an interview with BrilliantRead Media. Alkha is a Leader, Coach, Entrepreneur, Certified Trainer, Mentor, Consultant and Change Enable. Let’s learn more about her background, her inspiring journey so far and her advice for our growing community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Alkha:

Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

Like they say I created my message from my mess. A divorce from a marriage that did not last long and my father’s moving on around the same time made a mess of my life.

Totally shattered initially, I gathered myself around with the support of my family more so my mother. Through Coaching and mentoring others, I find my daily dose of happiness and a sense of fulfilment. I now strive to add as much value to my clients’ lives as possible. Seeing them grow makes my heart swell with pride.

The journey was no less difficult but at the same time enriching and fulfilling so far.

How did you discover your passion as a ‘Coach’?

The idea of coaching came to me a couple of years after my divorce and the re-emer-gence of a new me. Yet it took me some time to get into actual coaching.”

Now that I am into it, it gives me a great sense of happiness and contentment. The fact that I am able to help and support people who have been in a similar situation like mine.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Challenges are plenty like in any other profession. The fact that I am able to make a difference in the lives of people who have been through toxic and traumatic relationships. Those who are work-ing towards starting life anew after a divorce drives me on.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

She is not with me physically, yet my mother has been the biggest source of motivation for me. It is three years since she moved on and I was so much into being there for her that I did not do anything for myself.

She would always tell me, ‘Alkha pay attention to your life and stop looking at me as the focus of your life. There should be more to your life than me.'”

It is sad yet true that I took to learn the nuances of coaching only after her. My mother created a new life for me just the way she had created me in the first place.

What are some of the strategies that you believe has helped you grow as a person?

> Being mindful

> Always being resourceful

> Taking extreme ownership and responsibility for my actions Courage

> Ability to take risks & venture into uncharted territories.

> Willingness to be a life -long learner and evolving as an individual

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

I will say it straight that there are many factors but if you really have to have the key ele-ments then to me these are the ones:

(a) Accepting & Loving myself.

(b) Responsibility for my actions

(c) Being empathetic

(d) Standing up for myself

(e) Resourcefulness

(f) Curiosity

(g) Positive Attitude

(h) Taking massive action (execution) with consistency and belief

What advice would you give to our readers?

Being a Coach gives me a great feeling. The fact that I am able to support another person and bring a difference in their lives gives me a great sense of satisfaction. I feel very hum-ble when I do so.

I would also like to state that one should be open to taking support from Coaches. They are there to make a difference to the quality of your life.
