Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Anamika:
Talk us through your background and your journey, please;
I did my schooling from Army Public school Roorkee and further pursued Interior Designing from a reputed institute in Delhi. After I finished the course, I started my own interior consultancy firm. I was a passionate designer and was doing great in my practice. Had Interior projects from pan India.
I got this call to help people deal with their personal issues as I noticed a lot of people wanted to excel in life but are stuck for some reason or the other.”
I wanted to help them. I knew tarot card reading since childhood so started doing card readings for people. Soon I felt a realization that card readings fail to give permanent solutions to people. So, I did a Certified coaching program by certified coaching alliance under the aegis of Symbiosis Institute, California. Now, I help people work on their personal as well as professional dream goals.
What made you passionate about ‘Coaching’?
Helping others is truly my passion. My goal is to guide my clients to find happiness and live their life to the fullest.
I believe we all are capable of becoming successful and living a happy and content life. However, many get lost in the way due to reasons like lack of commitment, focus and clarity about the vision and process to achieve their dream goals. Life coaching gives them a structure to work on the plans.”
We have tools to measure the progress at every step and when we are able to measure our progress then we surely improve. Also, I take up issues like procrastination, self-doubt and inconsistent actions to get better results.
My focus is that my clients make progress on a daily, weekly and monthly basis no matter how slow it is but when we improve 1 % every day, we improve 30% in a month.
I feel elated when my coaching sessions leave an impact on my client’s progress and they are able to gain success in their personal as well as professional front.
How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?
Having learnt from dedicated and methodical coaching institutes internationally, I would say that the key is to reach out to each individual characteristic of my subject.
It is the “you” which is astoundingly important rather than “I” being the coach. Please note that you cannot strike the best sounding key for the most astounding sound in its correct decibels if you are unable to enter the individual’s core. Working on crust takes one nowhere.
I always focus on my client’s needs while coaching and as a motivational speaker, motivating my audience to the core is my ultimate goal.”
I love indulging in motivational talks. It gives me immense satisfaction and pleasure to motivate and inspire people. I love to see their reactions, excitement and thrill part is when they are able to make a shift in their emotions.
Last year amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, a group of students approached me to give a motivational talk for the students as they were going through tough times. Issues like No regular classes, confusion about exams and their fearfulness about their future as to where they would be getting a placement with this kind of online university set up etc are being their core issues.
I delivered a mesmerizing talk in which I shared how this is the best time that they have in which they can learn a lot of things online. Structured out sessions and being pre-equipped with the subject group psychological orientation made it possible to pave a concrete path for each one of the participants.
There are a plethora of such instances but nurturing youth to work in earnest makes me a motivated coach catering to even bigger motivated masses – whether in groups or in individuals.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
My parents are the biggest source of motivation for me as they have always told me to believe in myself.
They taught me to believe in Karmas as that’s the only wealth we can carry with us when we leave this body.”
To be honest, My Husband Manish and my two daughters also inspire me a lot. They always support me in whatever I do. My daughters listen to all my podcasts and youtube videos. They tell me how motivated they feel after listening to those videos.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
There are a few:
1) Being mindful
2) Always being resourceful
3) Taking extreme ownership and responsibility for my actions
4) Ability to take risks & venture into uncharted territories.
5) Thinking in the way how I can be of help to others
6) Practicing forgiveness
You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?
My motivation comes from meditation and I cannot survive without it. The motivation to work hard and practice and stay disciplined comes from the desire to master my skill to keep learning something new, and my genuine enjoyment for my purpose. I try to set boundaries which take practice so that I don’t get bogged down by my client’s problems.
I spend some time in solitude besides mediation, reading books and spending quality time with my family. I keep a gratitude journal and write a few things I am grateful for on a daily basis.
I also read works by people I admire with uplifting material that reminds me of the power we all have within us.
Doing coaching sessions is like rejuvenation for me as it gives me a feeling that I am able to do my bit to add value in other person’s life.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
I will say it straight that there are many factors but if you really have to have the key elements then to me these are the ones:
– Self-love
– Believe in yourself
– Taking charge of all your actions & owning their consequences.
– Positive Attitude
– Being Consistent
– Laser-sharp focus
– Vision of your success
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Anyone who wants to be successful has to be consistent in one’s thoughts and actions as it’s easy to start something but it needs discipline and commitment to actually bring it to the finish line.
Also, believe in one principle that you can’t be successful if you think only from the point of view of your benefits. If you don’t add value to other people’s life. Your profession has no future as trade is always give and take, you can’t succeed if you don’t support others.
Always think in the context of how I can help others succeed and become successful in the process. Please inculcate virtues of giving and caring before amassing and ignoring respectively.
If you want success, think in terms of adding value to people’s life and giving them service as when you serve others, good luck follows you. Focus on getting results for your clients and if you can transform their lives, your life will be transformed in the process.
Last but not the least, what do you wish to be in the next five years?
To reach a milestone of satisfaction adding value to the lives of 500k+ people and transforming their lives completely.
