Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Anvensha:
We are aware of your contributions to the ecosystem; talk us through your background and your journey, please;
As I was growing up, I was so unclear in my head in terms of what I ever wanted to pursue in my life. Every 6 months, my dreams change, and I will think about a new career path.
Nothing gave me the peace that I was looking for until my mother literally pushed me into pursuing my bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass communication.
A year into the course and I knew that I wanted to become an advertising professional and I put all my energy and effort into following my dreams. So, I graduated in journalism and mass communication and later applied for a postgraduate diploma in advertising and marketing communications from Apeejay Satya University.
I started as an advertising professional, working for a few clients that kind of helped me broaden my perspective about life and gave me the wings to spread and fly high.
Now that I am a tarot card reader, healer and a coach, I sometimes ask myself what the need was of doing all that, I could have just started as a reader.
But, everything that I have done is helping me now to pursue my soul purpose. Whatever I learnt from my profession including communication, writing, timing is helping in growing my work today.
How did you discover your passion in ‘Coaching’?
I strongly believe that everything happens as per divine order and a few years ago there was a situation in my life where I could not just take it anymore. I was just wandering around, directionless without any motivation to even live my life.
Everyone I could seek was either unapproachable or some never had the intention to help me come out of the mess I was in. I knew if I had the correct guidance from the very beginning, things wouldn’t have turned out this badly.
However, everything happens for a reason and this situation helped me identify my purpose. I experienced all that I could so that I can forward to help people heal without judgements and pressure.
I remember, I took a reading from a well-known reader and how she helped me step-by-step in my journey and that’s what I wanted to be. I am working on myself each day so that I can share this wisdom amongst people so that they don’t wander directionless and love themselves in the best possible ways.
How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?
As and when I speak to multiple people and I also introspect about myself, I know that there is actually one thing that people are looking for, and that is “Peace”. When you are peaceful, you can simply achieve it all.
The core is always peace, and this is my only driving factor.
Healing yourself is not easy, and it is not. It is not something that you will do in a day and next day you will attain moksha, it is a constant practice to achieve that lifestyle where there is nothing but joy, love and peace.
Whenever I feel that I can’t do it anymore or why am I even doing it? I just took a sneak-peak at my past self, where I was only competing, running and not knowing where I was. The life that I am living now is much worthy to keep me motivated to expand myself on this path.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
I am a single child so ever since I had this added pressure to do something because my parents do not have another kid to expect it from. So, I really wanted to make them proud of me.
However, life is not always what you think of it and when you grow up and experience adulting, life is a lot different from what you ever planned it to be. Things change and so do people and especially when someone’s perspective changes towards you – it is the biggest eye-opener.
So my only and biggest motivation is God and myself. I love God and which is why I am following the path that he has shown me and is continuously showing me. Second is me, because I am a divine child of god and I deserve all the happiness in the world and these two beings are enough to keep me motivated.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
(1) Prioritizing myself
(2) Releasing judgement and control
(3) Acceptance
You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?
What you give power to is what you manifest in your life!
Everything has two sides – one is positive, and the other is negative. The problem is that people focus more on the negative than the positive and this programming has been deeply set in our thought patterns. If you give all your power to positivity, only positivity will happen and vice versa.
I will tell you one story from my teenage days to explain this better. When I was 15 years old, my parents caught me doing something and it was a Thursday.
A lot of drama happened but it settled in 2-3 days. I kind of gave power to the fact that Thursday may be an unlucky day because my mom always used to howl at me whenever I washed my hair on a Thursday.
So, I thought to myself that it is happening because I wash my hair on Thursday hence I am being punished. And I started fearing this day and this went on for a good 7-8 months.
Thursday was now officially my unluckiest day and every Thursday something or the other would happen.
One fine day, I realized that I am just 15 and I have to live for god knows how many years and I can’t keep living in this fear forever and after thinking this, I said to myself, I need not fear anything and I will do what I wish to and I took my power back from this fear.
It’s been more than a decade, and nothing happened on Thursdays ever after that. So positivity and negativity are only in your head – important is what you give power to. I give power to positivity and hence I do not need any external factor to keep me further motivated.
Please share with us, how do you motivate your clients?
In my journey, all the wisdom and learnings that I have learnt and still learning is not just for me. Given that I am on this path, I am also experiencing and learning so many things that I can pass it on to those who need it.
Second, any client who comes to you is coming to gain a perspective in their lives and as a reader, my role is to help them gain this perspective which comes by sticking to the truth.
Many times, I know that my answers will hurt the feelings of my client but I also know they will help them gain perspective and courage to fight with inner demons. So always stay truthful and do not sugarcoat the facts.
And then of course the important factor is the way you are communicating it. You should be loving, non-judgemental and should have open doors so that your client is comfortable discussing their issues with you fearlessly. And this only comes when I am motivated enough to work so it always starts with self-work.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
It is very important to understand what success means to you. For me, success could only mean my happiness while for some it could be owning their own estate or anything.
I am happy, hence I am successful. I don’t do things or work because I HAVE TO do it. I do it because it makes me happy and that gives me the results.
Second and last key to success is, let go of looking at success. Stop waiting for it to happen. Just keep doing your work – don’t think about the money, work, pressure, proving or looking for appreciation from outside.
I don’t know how much do I earn, I don’t know how much do I spend and I don’t know where do I stand. I get work and I do it with all my love and attention and that’s what helps me get appreciation, wealth and recognition.
Mantra is not running behind it and surrendering it to the universe.
What are the business mantras you have embraced as you sought to establish your success story?
Realizing that I am god’s child and in no circumstance, god will abandon me. There is particularly no business mantra that I follow, to be honest, I just follow what my intuition guides me to.
I have learnt to give unconditionally and through this, I also receive unconditionally. I never try to keep my knowledge and learning to myself and I am open about my life journey and experiences with my clients.
Sometimes I know that what the client is going through is something that I have experienced and come out of it gracefully, so I do not hesitate to share my story, my flaws and the mistakes I have done and the measures I took to rectify what I did wrong.
This helps my clients understand and motivates them enough to trust me with their problems and also help me help them. In particular, there is no business mantra behind my success story but the fact that I follow my inner wisdom and intuition and whenever I face any challenges, I heal it and surrender it to god. I am no one who can solve the issues but only god can do that for me.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
> Never pursue a career in any field that is being forced on you by society, family, parents or whosoever.
> Never pursue a career because others are doing it.
> Never pursue a career because it has more money in it.
Pursue your goals, dreams and desires. Something that fills you with joy and peace at the end of the day.. this will open up doors to your wealth, health, contentment and success
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
The fact that I am following my life purpose and doing god’s work is satisfying.
