Let’s learn more about her incredible journey, background and advice for our growing community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Babita:

Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

My life has been a continuous journey of self-exploration. I completed my graduation from Patna Women’s College, after which a new chapter began with my husband in uniform.

Every two to three years, we moved to a new place, made new friends, and redesigned and redecorated a new home. Life presented me with a choice: to stay with the Army family or pursue a career. I chose family.

My two children grew up in the beautiful environment of Army life, where we learned to value life and relationships deeply. To fulfill my professional aspirations, I joined a school as a teacher.

This marked the beginning of another beautiful journey where my personal and professional lives blended seamlessly, and I had the privilege of partnering with my children in their education.

As they grew older, I decided to shift my career path. I completed my MBA from SMU and joined Ma Foi Consulting Firm as a training consultant. This experience gave me clarity and helped define my career direction. Today, I am associated with various L&D firms as a senior consultant, partnering with organizations in their leadership development initiatives.

How did you discover your passion?

I resonate deeply with the fourth pane of the Johari Window—the “unknown self.” Teaching was never something I envisioned for myself, but due to limited practical options at the time, I found myself entering the field.

The encouraging feedback from parents and principals began to reveal a possibility I hadn’t considered: that perhaps I belonged in the space of learning and development.

My time with Ma Foi Consulting Firm brought this realization into sharp focus. Engaging with college students and professionals from various industries, along with the rich, diverse interactions, continually fueled my passion for this work.

Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?

I firmly believe that tough times bring out the best in us. I draw strength from my past experiences of dealing with unknowns and uncertainties as an army officer’s wife and, most importantly, from my grown-up children, with whom I’ve had the privilege of growing alongside. Through it all, I’ve learned to appreciate myself, even when I fall short in my endeavours.

Also, I’m a firm believer in NLP and the power of the subconscious mind. I find strength in creating mental anchors that help me tap into my potential.

What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?

1) The power of Gratitude (From my early experience as an Army officer’s wife): The Army is a beautiful organization that teaches you the true value of relationships and empathy. I’ve learned to be thankful for every small thing in life. Every challenge you face is part of your unique journey, so embrace it and appreciate its role in shaping who you are.

2) Self-Acceptance: Learning to appreciate yourself for who you are is essential. If you don’t value yourself, it’s hard to convince others to respect you. Embrace your imperfections they are a part of what makes you unique.

3) Lifelong Learning: Being a lifelong learner keeps you relevant and gives you a sense of purpose. Continuous growth not only enriches your life but also keeps you connected to the ever-changing world around you.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

In my opinion, the keys to success include a combination of resilience, self-discipline, and continuous learning.

Resilience helps you navigate challenges and setbacks without losing sight of your goals.

Self-discipline keeps you focused and consistent in your efforts.

Lastly, continuous learning ensures you remain adaptable and open to new opportunities, allowing you to grow and evolve in your journey toward success.

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

My Advice to Students and Young Professionals for a Successful Career:

Have Faith in Your Abilities – Believe in yourself and trust that you have what it takes to succeed.

Choose a Career Aligned with Your Passions – Select a career path based on what truly excites you, and honour that choice by finding joy in what you do.

See Your Career as a Chapter in Your Life Story – Treat your career as a meaningful chapter in your autobiography—one that reflects your growth, challenges, and achievements.

Embrace Lifelong Learning – Stay curious and continuously push yourself to learn and grow, ensuring you achieve what you truly deserve.

Maintain Your Identity – Don’t lose sight of who you are. Preserve your identity and keep upskilling to stay relevant and fulfilled.

Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

I believe I’m in the best phase of my life, where my work aligns perfectly with my passion.

The greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that each session I conduct not only adds to my own perspective but also creates meaningful transformations and alignments for others.

The appreciation I receive after making these connections with my audience, combined with the continuous learning and growth that my work demands, absolutely excites me.

This blend of impact, connection, and personal growth is what makes my journey truly satisfying and exhilarating.

With over 20 years of experience in training and development, having trained more than 50,000 students and professionals across various industries, I continue to find the same excitement in every new group I work with as I did when I first started.
