Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Devanshi:

Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

I come from a finance background and was leading finance at an MNC in Ahmedabad. But my journey into holistic inch-loss coaching began with my own struggles. Like many, I went through cycles of weight gain and loss, consulting almost every nutritionist in Ahmedabad. While I saw short-term results, nothing helped me keep the weight off permanently.

That’s when I realized the issue wasn’t just the diet—it was the entire approach. Weight loss isn’t just about eating less or working out more; it’s about understanding how our body, mind, and lifestyle work together. So, I took it upon myself to study, experiment, and first transform my own habits. Through this journey, I developed a sustainable method that doesn’t rely on rigid diets or extreme workouts but instead focuses on the three key spheres of life—nutrition, movement, and mindset.

What sets my approach apart is its flexibility. There’s no strict menu or “one-size-fits-all” plan. Instead, I help people build an independent and adaptable lifestyle, one that fits into their daily routine without making them feel restricted.

My goal is not just to help people lose inches but to empower them with the knowledge and habits that make healthy living effortless and enjoyable. Because real transformation isn’t just about looking better—it’s about feeling better, inside and out.

How did you discover your passion?

I never set out to become a nutritionist or a coach. My journey started purely as a personal mission—to transform myself. But as I went through the process, I realized that conventional approaches had too many gaps. They focused only on short-term fixes rather than long-term, sustainable results.

I had spent years struggling, feeling frustrated, and chasing temporary solutions. That’s when it hit me—no one else should have to go through what I did. My growing years were consumed by trial and error, and I knew there had to be a better way.

Once I found a method that worked—not just for losing inches but for sustaining a healthier, happier lifestyle—there was no looking back. The more I helped myself, the more I felt the urge to help others break free from the same cycle. That’s when my passion truly took shape—to empower people with the right knowledge and tools so they can achieve lasting results without the struggle I faced.

Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?

At Holistic Inch Loss, I live by the very principles I preach—nothing is impossible, and we have the power to rewire our brains the way we want. Challenges are inevitable, but I firmly believe that consistency and mindset determine the outcome.

I remind myself, just like I tell my clients, that progress isn’t always exciting or fast, but boring has to be the new normal. True transformation doesn’t come from motivation alone—it comes from discipline, resilience, and trusting the process, even when results aren’t immediate.

What truly keeps me going is the impact I see in my clients’ lives. Watching them not just lose inches but gain confidence, energy, and control over their habits reinforces my purpose. This journey isn’t just about physical change; it’s about shaping a person holistically—mentally, emotionally, and physically. Seeing that transformation unfold in others is what fuels me to keep pushing forward, no matter the obstacles.

What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?

The most valuable lessons I’ve learned come from my mom and people in my personal circle (in my growing years)—things they used to tell me as a kid that I didn’t fully understand until later.

These lessons have shaped my mindset, my work, and the way I coach others:

Discipline over motivation – Success doesn’t come from being inspired every day; it comes from doing the same things consistently, even when they feel boring. Today’s Gen-Z may crave novelty, but real results come from repetition—whether it’s in health, career, or personal growth. Iteration is key.

Balance, not extremes – Life isn’t about always being “perfect.” Having fun can be one of the days, sleeping past 11 PM can be one of the days, and indulging can be one of the days. What matters is how you bounce back the next day. Flexibility is what makes a lifestyle sustainable.

Your mindset shapes your reality – The way we think determines the way we act. If you believe something is impossible, you’ve already lost. But if you train your mind to see possibilities instead of obstacles, you’ll find ways to make things work. This is true for fitness, business, and every aspect of life.

These three lessons don’t just guide me personally—they are the foundation of my approach to coaching.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

Success, whether in fitness, career, or life, isn’t about luck—it’s about following certain fundamental principles. For me, the key pillars are:

DisciplineMotivation comes and goes, but discipline is what keeps you moving forward. Success is built on showing up every day, even when you don’t feel like it. The people who achieve lasting results are the ones who commit to the process, no matter how repetitive or “boring” it may seem.

Patience & ConsistencyNothing happens overnight. Whether it’s weight loss, building a career, or mastering a skill, consistency compounds over time. The ones who succeed are those who stick with it long enough to see results.

AdaptabilityLife will always throw challenges your way. The ability to pivot, adjust, and keep going without giving up is what separates those who succeed from those who quit.

Strong MindsetYour thoughts shape your actions. If you tell yourself, “This is too hard,” your brain will find reasons to quit. But if you reframe challenges as opportunities, you’ll find ways to make things work.

Simplicity & SustainabilitySuccess isn’t about doing extreme things for a short time; it’s about finding simple, sustainable habits that you can maintain long-term. Whether it’s in health or business, the key is to make your process realistic and repeatable.

The Art of Saying ‘No’Setting boundaries is crucial. Whether it’s unhealthy food, unnecessary commitments, or negative influences, knowing when to say no helps you stay focused on what truly matters.

ResilienceThere will be setbacks, failures, and moments of doubt. But those who succeed are the ones who keep going despite challenges. The ability to get back up after every fall is what makes all the difference.

The “Let Them” TheoryPeople will have opinions, expectations, and doubts about you. Let them. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. Stay committed to your journey, and results will speak louder than words.

These principles have not only shaped my own transformation but also formed the foundation of how I coach my clients. Success isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress, persistence, and the willingness to keep improving every single day.

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

If you want to build a successful career, stop fixating on shortcuts, job titles, or immediate financial rewards. Instead, focus on these key principles:

Don’t Set Boundaries on EffortSuccess doesn’t come from sticking to a 9-to-5 mindset. If you want to grow, be willing to go the extra mile, learn beyond your job description, and take ownership of what you do.

Love What You DoPassion fuels consistency. If you genuinely enjoy your work, you won’t count hours—you’ll focus on mastery and impact. Find meaning in what you do, and success will follow.

Walk the TalkPreach only what you practice. Authenticity builds trust. Whether in health, business, or leadership, people respect those who embody what they teach rather than just speaking about it.

Prioritize Value CreationMoney, recognition, and opportunities are byproducts of the value you create. Focus on solving problems, improving lives, or making a real impact, and everything else will naturally align.

Be Adaptable & Keep LearningThe world is evolving, and so should you. Never stop learning, upgrading your skills, and embracing change. The most successful professionals are the ones who stay ahead by continuously improving.

Patience & ResilienceSuccess takes time. Rejections, failures, and setbacks are part of the process. Those who win are the ones who persist despite challenges and stay committed to their journey.

A fulfilling career isn’t about chasing success—it’s about becoming the kind of person success is naturally attracted to. Keep adding value, keep evolving, and success will follow.

Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

The most satisfying part of my journey is seeing my clients transform—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. When I witness the happiness in their eyes, the confidence in their voice, and the relief they feel as their struggles ease, it reinforces why I do what I do.

It’s incredibly fulfilling when:

> Doctors recommend me to patients with chronic issues, and they start feeling better.

> A client with PCOD tells me they got their periods naturally for the first time in years—without medication.

> Someone who once felt stuck in their body suddenly believes they can conquer the world.

live my clients’ journeys with them—their struggles, their wins, and even their plateaus. And when we break through those plateaus together, it’s not just exciting; it’s a reminder that growth is always possible. Their achievements become my achievements, and that’s what makes this journey so rewarding.
