We are aware of your contribution to the ecosystem, talk us through your background and your journey as a doctor and a lady please;
I did my schooling from Sri Kumaran Children’s home Bengaluru and further pursued MBBS from Al Ameen medical College in Bijapur I was an ambitious, passionate individual from the beginning and always aspired to be a good doctor, who would give the best to the society and reach every individual who needs timely help.
To add to my skills and knowledge, I also completed a course FICM i.e, fellowship in critical care and also did a Diploma in diabetology, I have also done multiple courses accredited from Harvard University, Stanford University and John Hopkins courses related to multiple aspects of medicine and telemedicine. I represented my school and College in multiple debate competitions, I was and am a good orator too.”

At the personal front, I am a voracious reader and enjoy reading books, apart from doing my duties towards my house and child.

Have received multiple awards for the contribution during Covid times as well as my work in Telemedicine.

What attracts you towards Telemedicine?
I chose telemedicine as I feel through this I can reach out to more people than an in-person consultation would let me to. I feel telemedicine and use of AI in medicine is the future in medicine.
It enables even the person at the most remote corner to access a doctor for primary care or first aid. It also helps people to seek a second opinion from a doctor who is placed far and is renowned.
The virtual world is much more accessible and available hence telemedicine is the present and future.
‘Telemedicine’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving with the help of Telemedicine?
All primary health care needs can be taken care of if a patient receives his lab reports in the middle of the night, he does not have to wait till the next morning and spend a sleepless night to know what is wrong with him/her.
All they would need to do is register in a telemedicine platform and connect to a qualified doctor through a video call, which makes it much easier for the doctor to assess the patient.
During this COVID-19 crisis, what were the contributions made through Telemedicine?
First of all only after the onset of the Covid 19 crisis a proper guideline was set for practising telemedicine, all the legal hassles were promptly addressed
I have seen around 1631 cases through project step one for triage and treatment in-home quarantine and 1000 cases on a private basis through other platforms.
I had also put up my number on social media handles so that people could reach out easily.
How do you manage yourself and keep on going despite the challenges? What drives you?
I am passionate about my work and the faith that my patients have in me keeps me going. My parents have played a vital role in my career, My father always wanted me to serve the people
Who is situated in remote corners and don’t have proper facilities. My family is the driving force behind my success. My Husband also has always encouraged me to pursue what I am doing.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned building your startup?
1 – Be passionate in whatever you do
2 – Keep yourself updated
3 – Work Hard.
In your opinion – what is most necessary to get a good Telemedicine platform going?
In my opinion, the first thing is to have a good development team who can develop a good dashboard or platform. Have qualified doctors who are aware of the telemedicine guidelines and who know how to treat a patient over Telemedicine as it requires a lot of expertise to diagnose correctly based on history and inspection of the patient.
You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?
As I told you already I am passionate about Telemedicine and to keep myself updated about the recent developments in medicine as well as in telemedicine.
Hence I have done a lot of courses for the same. My family also keeps me motivated.
My patients who always reach out to me are my driving force, to learn more in order to help them more.
We would love to know your advice for all those starting out as an aspiring women doctors, especially in Telemedicine?
