As part of our endeavour to share with our community some of the powerful and inspiring stories from the entrepreneurship world, we spoke to Dr. Srinivasa Kumaran, founder and CEO At Yellow Buddhii, to understand more about his venture. He is leveraging his skills to help and uplift people through his initiatives. Lets read more about his inspiring journey and how he is making an impact to the lives of his students !

Excerpts from our conversation with Dr. Srinivasa Kumaran:

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your startup, please;

This is Dr G K Srinivasa Kumaran PhD, Founder of Yellow Buddhii. Before the Inception stage of Yellow Buddhii, I was part of Software (IT Industry technical & managerial) for almost 2 decades.

I am very passionate about unique and innovative ways of empowering children, students, parents, teachers and corporate teams. Yellow Buddhii kicked off in 2014. I and my wife Co-founded the venture together through scientific based counselling, later I pursued my PhD in Neuro-science. My primary focus areas were Neuro Science Innovation, Physiology and Genetical Disorder. So far we have empowered the majority of all normal children. Also around 50 plus children on Special Category (Autistic, Dyslexia, Down Syndrome, ADHD and others). The journey is fantastic and changing/transforming people’s lives.

I come from a small town called Madurai In Tamil Nadu. After my PG in Computer Science 1992, I relocated to Bangalore for my Job. It is almost 27 years since I am based out of Bangalore. Living happily with my wife and 2 lovely daughters (elder one pursuing Architecture and younger one is in 10th Grade). GOD has a master plan for everyone, I strongly believe that in my life.

How do you find the industry/niche that you’re in?

Education Industry is always competitive.  But we are different from the traditional way of teaching because we have our own Unique, Innovative & Intuitive based Scientific Holistic Music Therapy for a lifetime. It is one of the very niche concepts in India. Across Global countries like Asian, Europe and other world locations ‘Music Therapy’ is extremely demandable, popular and highly competitive. We have completed 5 plus years in our business and growing rapidly now across India and entering global markets on-demand manner.

What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation?

Good Question. I would say every day waking up is a Gift from GOD’s Master plan. My day starts with Gratitude prayer to make my day always super duper. You never know what surprise and who connects us for various reasons. GOD always has plans to send people, a message from others. So I have a practise to push myself for my Good Health, both physical & mental fit. Of course, we all have one life and we should maximum learn, be happy, make others happy is my motto. Feel like younger day by day for practising my prayers @ Subconscious mind levels.

What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far?

Every business has its own time to evolve. For us also it took close to 4 years to make our concept and to make the overall journey smooth. When we started initially, many of them did not value our concept.

We started showing the results instantly and our students started sharing their feedback along with parents’ inputs made our journey even smoother. So ‘Word of Mouth’ works very effectively for us. School Principals started referring to our programs for the challenged children.  We strongly feel all children are GOD gifted through us. It is all in parents hand to make them a success or problematic ones. The final blame goes to every parent. Parenting is an art and needs to be experienced and not in formal teaching mode.

What comes first for you – money or emotions?

I am an emotional person. Business needs to have emotions, not personal, obviously, but business ones like concern for quality deliverables, client satisfaction, targets & roadmaps, you planned & how you will achieve it, etc. Money is the priority but I believe if your value creation process is right for others, the money will automatically come as an outcome of it. Money can not buy everything. But through good value-added services once can influence others for BIG money. It is just a by-product and EQ (Emotional Quotient) plays a major role in everyone’s life.

How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?

We have successfully carried out many practical experiences in our 6 years of journey. Every Individual is different and unique. As an expert, we need to Identify and focus more on handling strengths. Majority of working more on their weakness, which leads to more stress. They do not know how to handle themselves. So working on strengths is very much advisable from us. As a great human being, I always empower our students to focus on the following 3 Important points. They are 1. Self Discipline 2. Self Beleive and 3. Self Realization.  If every one Individually follows these 3 items, Miracles can happen within us.

What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup?

In our journey so far what has helped me immensely is the how to make ourselves Happy and be optimistic in our life. In our life, happiness can bring many positive changes within us. But we leave that and go outside and search for happiness. Follow our techniques, tools, sharing stories and experiences will have a great impact on every individual life.

Have a ‘Never Give Up’ attitude,  Stay Calm and Identify Individual Passion. Once we start focusing on our passion, the results will be effective and good.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

There are a few and you can learn it on your way up. As long as you have a growth mindset it is not a problem. Make our Mind very Happy, Strong and Never give up attitude leads us more results. Be Grounded, Happy, Express Gratitude and Helping Tendency matters a lot for our success.

What advice would you give to someone starting?

I always work on my Strengths. Be bold and take always a calculative effort. Do not wait for the opportunities. Just attempt to fulfil our BIG Dreams. Entrepreneurial life is so exciting than an Employee for someone. I have always shared my own story to inspire others. Because the story will remain in everyone’s mind for a lifetime…
