Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Drishti:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
I hail from Mumbai and have been into Bollywood since I was a kid. I grew up, thinking that I would either become an actor or a director. Post my graduation. I decided to pursue my master’s degree in filmmaking and while I was graduating, I developed a thing for writing, so I became a part of some anthologies.
I worked as a content writer and that’s where my empathy, My feelings actually played a huge role because I realised I like to feel things as in, I’m an emotional person, and I really grasp the energy of the other person to empathise with them.
Growing up I also saw a lot of people would just come and talk to me and I loved listening and helping them out. When a turning point came in my life when I was going through a hard time, I found Tarot It was through a video on youtube, and I was an atheist before that I was juggling between some choices in my life, and this Tarot video gave me insights and also predicted what was going to happen.
That is how I believe actually was completely changed because I used to always say as a kid that I will believe when I see it actually happen, and that is exactly how things took turn in my life.
How did you discover your passion?
So through that video, I embarked on a journey where it became a daily routine for me like I would watch some videos. I would take some inspiration and go about my day. What I realised was that it became an essential part of my healing. I realised so much, and my mind actually opened up a lot.
The things which I don’t think I would have understood about. I understood while seeing these tarot videos on YouTube, one day told my mom. I wanna learn Tarot, and after a lot of convincing, she agreed and entrolled me into my first Tarot Course. A while watching these videos, I was always attracted to this. Crystal is called rose quartz.
I decided to buy it and try it out, and when it changed my life immensely that is when I decided, I wanted to open a business which was only associated with crystals .
That is how the moon daughter was formed at this point in time. I was doing reading professionally, but yes, I did it for my friends and family. I think Tarot became more serious when I started doing predictions for my family and friends, and they found it to be true and they encouraged me to take clients professionally.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
I have created bonds with people over time, which I won’t be able to explain, but it’s just this connection that we have built and the fact that they always get to see the magic that Tarot has even if I am the medium that keeps me going after Tarot.
My interest really grew towards this field and I started learning more about it and when I learnt more, I realised that there’s so much to it like there’s so much in this horizon and every time I feel low.
I just look at my own journey and realise all that I’ve learned about is beyond this feeling. one of those things is that what goes up comes down and what goes down comes up too and this is always my motivation for some I’ve learned to surrender and that’s what I always tell my clients too. Because the universe has better plans than I do.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
The most important thing that I’ve learned in my life is to surrender because I realised that no matter what plans I made the universe or God had better plans for me, for example, I worked as an assistant intern producer for a reality show and that time was literally very painful, even though it was my only goal all my however, once I quit, I never looked back, and I started to focus on my own business completely.
Back then I couldn’t have thought that I would get financial freedom or stability through my business. I come from a family that is only into jobs or works in Bollywood.
So this was an alien field. However, as I grew through these times I realised that nothing is permanent. Your fear is not permanent. Your situation is not permanent. Everything changes and if you surrender and stop worrying, you’ll be able to live more in the present and let the future be in the future. Because things fall in place if you’re genuine and work for things.
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
I think it’s your passion, no matter what you do, you need to be passionate about what you want in your life and what you’re working for in your life. If you’re passionate enough, there is nothing that you cannot achieve.
Yes, there are a lot of factors apart from this like luck, fate or hard work but your passion, it can actually help you get through all of these things to this is what I believe truly, and I’ve experienced.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
I would really say find your passion. Find it is what you like and stop worrying about the future works out. Everyone ends up doing something on the other, but make sure that you at least do something that you’re passionate about hard work is important. You need to focus on what you like.
You have to work for it. It’s not gonna come right away, but it will definitely come. Don’t be in a hurry to figure it all out now. You’ll know everything at the right time. Focus on your today.
Focus on what you are doing right now whether you’re studying to become an engineer or a doctor or even you wanna open your own business focus only and only on today. The rest will end up falling in your favour.
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
I feel it’s the love that I receive from the people around me. It’s the motivation that they give me when they say that I was able to guide them or help them in any way possible that keeps me going the most satisfying and exciting part about it is also that I’ve been able to find people through this career who are extremely kind, passionate and empathetic. I get the freedom to choose when I work or when I don’t, and I truly believe that it’s only and only because God has been kind to.
