Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Haarrdika:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
I am one of the good examples for anyone to understand the statement – ‘Passion turned into Profession’. I come from a varied background of being a Commerce Graduate, though with a dream of becoming an IT professional.
After completing my graduation, I got married and tried to settle with the new phase of my life and left my dream way behind and moved on. Though always had a feeling of being incomplete and something missing in life.
I still did not lose hope and kept upskilling myself and trying new things. Like, I did a course on multimedia and started as a trainer in the same institute. And, I guess that is where things changed and I unlocked my skills of being a good, empathetic communicator. I could understand, that I can understand people and their feelings and requirements.
How did you discover your passion?
As a mother of 2 children and a homemaker, I was happy though not satisfied. Then, in 2011, I was introduced to ‘Soft skills’ as a profession that got me curious.
After some research 3 advantages that I found in being a trainer:
> Flexibility with time
> Job satisfaction & happiness
> Money
I did a certification in 2012 from the American TESOL Institute and started my journey as a freelance Soft skills Trainer. And since then, there was no looking back. It is 12 years in this field and I have every time utilized the opportunity of upskilling 12 different modalities.
How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?
It has surely not been an easy journey. I came across many challenges in my relationships of me being a mother, wife, daughter-in-law and more. Though, I seriously at that time do not know how and what gave me the strength to overcome these obstacles.
Yes, and a lot of self-work, I understood that it my Confidence, Consistency, Commitment, and a strong, clear mindset that helped me overcome the challenges. A burning desire to achieve my goals, not to prove myself to others but to prove myself to myself.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
To me, I feel motivation is everywhere and from everyone around me. Some do it positively and some negatively, some as a well-wisher some as a competitor. Now, what is more important is ‘How am I dealing with it’? – To grow or to give up.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
– Trust in God
– Trust in Myself
– Accountable and responsible for my decisions
– Focused
– Planning
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
I will say it straight that there are many factors but if you really have to have the key elements then to me these are the ones:
1) Accepting & loving myself.
2) Responsibility for my actions
3) Standing up for myself
4) Resourcefulness
5) Curiosity
6) Positive Attitude
7) Taking massive action (execution) with consistency and belief.
What advice would you give to our readers?
As a Success Coach and a Spiritual Tarot Master and healer, one important thing that I would like to share these 4 mantras of my life:
(i) You are always in all ways more than who you think you are.
(ii) Success is a journey, not a destination
(iii) Focus on the outcome rather than the obstacle
(iv) Life begins at the end of your comfort zone
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
I feel that empowering individuals to empower many more is a satisfying and happy feeling. Knowing and understanding different mindsets and helping them to create their success story.
