Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Karishma:

What made you passionate about Coaching?

I have always wanted to do something meaningful, that involves a strong purpose. During my growing years, I had discovered my passion for Health improvement & Health betterment and coaching gave me the platform where I could impart this passion and inspire others.

It’s always been my endeavour to assist individuals in reaching their healthy energy levels and turn their life around.”

As a health coach, I truly do believe that every client has endless potential for attaining good health, all that is needed is a guide/mentor to help them navigate through their health struggles.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

People are shaped by their experiences and circumstances, and having Faith & Perseverance has helped me through my life’s challenges.

Faith and Perseverance gave me the power to be resilient, allowed me to be vulnerable and motivated me to keep building on my passion.”

I think that being able to be passionate about helping others is at the core of who we are as people; all that is needed from our ends is the realization of the power of the self. Love and compassion drive me towards dedicating each day of my life towards empowering other individuals and creating visible and lasting changes in their lives.

What do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

The core belief that motivates me is following the mantra of the Power of Intent.

The power of intent is the power of a focussed mind.”

Setting your intentions allows you to raise not only your physical energy but emotional energy as well.

When we set goals it’s extremely important to have clarity of your vision, and this clarity gets manifested into actions and accomplishments of our goals.

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

The most important elements of my growth have been:

(1) Being mindful

(2) Not setting unrealistic goals for myself

(3) Being self-aware

(4) Raising the level of body consciousness

(5) Being resilient

(6) Welcoming vulnerability with open arms

(7) Having a positive outlook towards life

(8) Reflecting and Journaling my daily actions (but at the same time not being judgemental about myself)

(9) Acknowledging my wins

(10) Not undervaluing myself

You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?

My greatest stimulant is when I see my clients reach their Health Goals. I consider myself as a “Change Agent”, transforming individuals towards long term positive health changes.”

But, coaching is not just about creating health changes, it also empowers the clients to be more accountable towards their own health through raising self-awareness and creating body consciousness.

Stating this, the need of the hour is to promote the idea of building a Healthcare system where we can focus on health promotion and wellness, rather than treating illness and managing chronic diseases.

Active engagement in a self-care routine is essential not only to acquire optimal physical well-being but also to assist in reducing health maladies related to stress and anxiety.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

(a) Continuous skill and knowledge upgrading

(b) Fostering positive relationships

(c) Strategic planning-prioritize your goals

(d) Acknowledge the importance of small steps

(e) Have mentors

(f) Being persistent without expectations

(g) Be action focussed rather than result-oriented
