Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Lipsa:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
As a Founder of Blue Ink Interiors and Managing Partner in Tevoren Technologies LLP, My professional journey includes eight years of experience in Interior designing and executing Residential, Commercial and Clinic/ Hospital Projects.
I have completed my Interior Architect study from one of the well-known architectural institute CEPT University, Ahmedabad. While studying I have explored some of the cities like Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, Lucknow, Udaipur, where I have done research on well-known architectural spaces and crafts of their respective cities. I have also explored many crafts and skills such as painting, sketching, rendering, photography, weaving, screen printing and so much more.
I have always tried to explore different designs through my personal experiences. My design explorations are a true amalgamation of art, craft and nature. I am also a certified Entrepreneur from CED, Gujarat (Centre for Entrepreneurship Development). And also pursuing my Personal Interest of Soft Skills and Image consultancy from ICBI, Ahmedabad. (Image Consulting Business Institute).
‘Blue Ink Interior’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving?
While studying and exploring my sketching skills I have explored Blue colour mediums such as pencils, watercolours, crayons, charcoals, inks and I discover that Ink is the most comfortable medium for me.
That was the moment I had decided I will keep my company name on “Blue Ink”. I have always explored different kinds of geometry in any of my designs, hence my company logo explained it better.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
I must say challenges makes each journey exciting as well as memorable. When I look back of my ten years journey with the challenges of directly starting of my freelancer Interior Designer career without any backup, becoming a only designer in a family background of doctors, an intercaste love marriage and giving birth to our child in covid & in nuclear family of two,
Despite all the challenges the burning desire of becoming a successful and individual Interior Designer were always there.
Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Which keeps me motivated all the time.
My ultimate aim of becoming the best Interior Designer for my signature style of concept design and I want to serve my clients their dream space uniquely designed for them. These two things always keep me motivated and inspires me to do more work.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
So yes, after some life lessons I have learnt self-care and self-love is the highest form of care which helps you to achieve everything.
1) It’s been said the way you do one thing you do everything. I have always tried to do each and every work or task with giving my 100% efforts. From everyday activities to my design projects my clients as well as my family friends know about my way of working. And habit of giving all the effort even in smaller works makes everything so possible.
2) Believe in yourself – I have always believed in myself in all the situation which helped me a lot achieving my goals or handling any tough situations.
3) Stay positive and be calm – Staying positive can lead you to a broader way of thinking to any situation. In my field this helped me a lot from dealing with agencies to clients staying positive and calm and handling situations better.
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
There can be many things for success depending on individuals but in my case, these are the points which is leading me towards success.
– Punctuality with timings
– Organized work methods & punctual with Work Ethics
– Self-Motivation
– Positive attitude towards new ways of working as well as learning
– Confidence in myself and in my designs
