Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Namrata:
We are aware of your contributions to our country and the ecosystem. Please enlighten us about Military leadership.
Well, the journey has been full of adventures, insights, experiences, and learnings. I belong to the hills of Uttarakhand, Pauri Garhwal and just like any highlander, Army was the first choice. I was doing my Public Relations from Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan when I filled out my form for Army and Navy SSB and I joined Olive Greens.
We get selected for the Indian Army with our innate Leadership which gets evaluated after the process of the world’s toughest 5 days interview (Service Selection Board). The competition of getting selected is tough to the ratio of 1: 100. The selection board does not compromise on the fabric of officers as they have to lead in risk and have to live on edge throughout their life.
Leading troops with zero casualties are the prime responsibility and you get transformed every single day by taking tough decisions. Military Leadership is about being fearless and morally upright which in Vedic culture is called Dharma. Your purpose is defined at a very early stage of Life and you get the opportunity to live a meaningful life which is your Kartavya.
What is that one key trait that keeps you going despite the challenges?
Innate Leadership and exploring infinity. Once you find your purpose you get more clarity.
Also, the courage of Conviction and Faith in God is what keep me going no matter how difficult the circumstances are.
Why do we need to have Coach and why certifications are important?
Coaching is different from guidance or mentoring. Life Coach unleashes your true potential by asking you only questions and the client or coachee finds those answers within themselves be it career-related/ or promotion or any other. The problem statement could be any.
As it is said – “A Coach is someone who sees beyond your limits and guides you to greatness.”
You are a Strength Finder Coach. What is the USP of Strength Finder?
That’s a great question. Strength Finder is a tool that assesses your strengths. It is a much-researched tool as it uncovers your core values- (helps you in finding your purpose), fears –mental barriers, Weaknesses- (basements), and Governing Emotions- (Behavioral patterns).
An expert Strength Finder coach transforms your life and gets you aligned with your purpose and life.
Please tell us about your work as a socio-economic analyst.
Well, we are in 5th largest emerging economy and have lots of potentials. Capability building is the need of the hour in terms of People and Industry. We have witnessed nations struggling with hunger and disease.
When we see globally- the way Inflation has hit us after the Pandemic and Ukraine- Russia Conflict and changing world order, we need to understand the dynamics of ruling determinants of the Indian Economy to improve economic strength and per capita income. I am a columnist and give my analysis about the global economy. My first write of 2021 – Are we face-to-face with the rumbles of deflation? (thehansindia.com) gave insights into what we are facing in today’s global economy.
I have seen youth complaining and marching on protests and stone petting. Youth is the make of our economy and they need to be constructive in their approach rather than being carried away by miscreants.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
Self Awareness – Know your Strengths, Weakness, Core Values, Fears, and Governing Emotions.
Have An Awareness of What brings Joy to You and What annoys you.
Always have firm faith in God. This develops you as an Evolved Person.
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
Know the ‘Why’ of your Work and you will have success your way.
How can we make our journey satisfying/exciting?
The journey is exciting when you choose to be an impact-maker or Be the change that you want to see.
Take risks and follow your heart in what you want to do. Identify your strengths and core values.”
Leadership gives you insights about your own self. Once you are developed as a Leader, you are unstoppable in creating Impact and you grow with all your learnings.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Humility and Gratitude are the keys to learning and growing.
There is no shortcut to success. Adopt sustainable models of success and build a strong foundation.”
