Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Namrata:

We are aware of your contributions to the ecosystem; talk us through your background and your journey, please;

I have over 20 years of experience and have grown to become a global professional with my unmatched experience of Neuro-Linguistic Language Techniques (NLP) and as an ICF-certified coach and trainer. The journey has been challenging, exciting, rewarding and full of learning so far.

My presence in multinational assignments and work culture has given me vast exposure & opportunities to share my knowledge and skills like cross-cultural, interpersonal relations, creative, active listening and self-motivation. A lot of what I talk about is purpose and passion.

Besides helping people identify their purpose of life, I also inspire them to live a beautiful life with passion.”

My goal is to help people overcome their past and move forward in life. So far hundreds of people have benefited from my self-developed program “Personal Transformation Within” which has changed their lives and enlightened them to become future-ready and visionary.

I have been trained and certified in NLP. Result-oriented coaching is the hallmark of my sessions. Either I work on one-to-one sessions or in groups, I am always ready to stand by online and offline with my clients. My ability to help my clients in identifying and capitalise their strengths has helped them reach to their goals and made them ready for the future.

How did you discover your passion for ‘Coaching’?

It was in the ’90s that I was exposed to multiple in-house training sessions in the multinational company I worked for but it was the offsite training on empowerment that left a deep impact on me. Thereon, I was very much intrigued by this whole training concept.

During my corporate journey of two decades and more , I came across many Training professionals who left a positive impression on me. This kept my passion to be a coach and trainer alive.”

As the avenues kept opening I reached my goal of learning the techniques of different styles of training and coaching. I am glad I am part of this coaching world. With the continually growing digitised life, we definitely need the support of a more holistic approach.

How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?

Challenges are an integral part of our lives. One should take the challenges and turn them into experiences. Taking a sabbatical from work was a difficult decision but one must accept the situation.

I didn’t give up at all and kept abreast with the new coaching techniques.

I always believe in continuous learning and upgrading skills. I made use of the time to upgrade my skills. During the Pandemic, I was keeping myself occupied with new learnings.”

I get this question a lot. What drives me…well, one being grateful for everything and second my passion to learn and my purpose to impart the same learning is which gets me going.

Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?

Giving gratitude and thanking the universe I would say I am self-motivated and have always kept a positive mindset. Rather than “who” I would say “what” which is my vision that now is to live for my passion and purpose.

Life is a teacher and as a humble student, I realized that I can shape all my good/not good experiences as learnings and with skills that can help those who are procrastinating or simply in denial to work on their life’s purpose.

Service to others is an important part of life. What I receive must give back as my contribution to society. Having said that my family and friends who truly believe in me and my vision support and encourage me.

What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?

Growth is very important for the transition to being a better version of yourself. For me, there’s been more experiential learning apart from the skills that I have acquired as I believe curiosity should never fade.

Each experience taught me and left me with some wisdom. In the end, I realized I had to own my life and take the reigns of it in my hands rather than leave it to life’s course so to speak.”

It’s important to be in a resourceful state. I since long have believed in meditation. It helps to keep your emotional, mental and physical being in harmony. Meditation gives me the calm to keep my inner self healed.

As one walks life’s path one should recognize what’s pulling the person up and what’s pushing him/her down. We have to be careful who we are around.

Giving gratitude to all that comes or doesn’t, is what helped me to understand the larger picture of life. As a life coach of ‘Personal Transformation within’, I apply all the learnings to myself too.

Namrata Sharma

You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?

Life – it’s yours and that too one. Being in the present – Living life in the current moment. Acceptance of who I am and not what others think of me. Now more than ever I am focused on my purpose.

Not living in the past as it’s gone. However modern the technology or the digitized world there’s no remote which can rewind and bring it back for you to either rectify the mistakes or relive them. So move forward with leanings from those experiences. It’s not easy but we can do it with the support of coaching.

Secondly don’t live in the future as what do we know of our next breath? The anxiety that we work upon ourselves is an unnecessary stress to our mental being which impacts our physical and emotional health too. Conscious living or mindfulness is highly effective and there is no magic pill as it takes practice.

Nothing comes easy but once you start working on it, it keeps you in a positive mindset and motivated too. All this is through my own experiences.”

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

I believe if we were to take the top “self-actualization” from Maslow’s theory and make that into our core and around the core to build the other layers of Maslow we will do better in life.

We begin the journey with what we are meant to be. It helps us realize our higher purpose in life. If we are happy and we create a happy surrounding.

We help others achieve the same. So the feeling of an unfulfilled life and the unhappiness surrounding it all can be taken over by what you believe is your passion and pursuing it. You may not find success immediately so resilience is the key.

Each one of us is unique so never lose that. Another contributing factor is continuous learning -whichever field of work keeps updating your knowledge and never letting go of curiosity. A resourceful mindset will help you see the opportunities which are in abundance and make use of them. Compassion to support others to grow with you.

What advice would you give to our readers?

As said each one of us has the potential to be the best version of themselves. Unfortunately, most of us don’t realise that they have a bigger purpose or they are simply procrastinating, specially my gender in our Indian society are not getting the support or the encouragement. The empowered us have a responsibility to help and guide to make a huge difference in their own growth.

Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

I can say that I have finally found my calling as I have developed my passion for coaching and motivational speaking with a higher purpose to live for.

The more I can motivate and coach others to realise their purpose of life the happier and more fulfilled I will be. For me, this is how I would define my success.
