At BrilliantRead Media, we always strive to bring meaningful and powerful stories from India and around the world to empower and motivate our growing community. As part of this endeavour, we invited Natali Sharma for an exclusive interview with us. Natali is an Entrepreneur and Founder of Ramland. Let’s learn more about her background, journey and her advice for our community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Natali:

Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

I started in 2020, the year which is very well-known by CORONA VIRUS. where people started losing the business I saw an opportunity in that. I started my own company of events named – RAMLAND and gradually got to know that people preferred throwing parties and ceremonies at their own places and homes.

I understood that my area of expertise was in decor, but at that time didn’t get any opportunities as I was new to the market and needed funds for any promotion. So I started creating content and decorating friends parties free of cost so that I could have my own decor pictures.

My professional journey so far has helped me execute my own ideas and designs across a wide variety of industry verticals, including tentage, lights, balloons, and floral decors. Along with it, it helped me with market research, knowing the target audience, content creation, promotions and client dealing, and building my own party packages.

Still, I create opportunities for my own by decorating my own place at the time of festivals I have done PG in fashion designing from Pearl Academy Jaipur and I must say that this place helped me a lot to see the world positively and build my skills in sketching and making digital illustrations, giving presentations, public speaking and making mood boards from inspiration till execution.

‘Ramland’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving?

My father has a tentage firm with the name of Shree Ram Tent House in Jaipur since 2004. I had one thing in mind whatever I started or built that have a name consist RAM in it so after a lot of brainstorming I got this name clicked one day which has a feel of an international vibe plus spiritual and religious bond with Indians as my market is Indian people and with growing and developing era this name fits into my brand as I cater more towards festivals as well and Indians love to celebrate festivals which has a bond with GOD.

Decor is something which increases the level of happiness in the heart and provides a very jolly feel whenever someone gets it done. I differ from the market in terms of intimate party setups. As I created my packages affordable coz I like to do intimate setups

Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?

Things only get tough when the people around you not supporting. My parents were not supportive of me as they felt that this industry is not good for me coz I chose the event industry as a whole, but later on when they saw that I was getting appreciation for my work they started getting proud of me.

One thing which helped me and still helping me is the consistency. There were days when I cried a lot at nights and faced a lot of depression coz I felt that I might not be able to do anything. Many a time I felt that I should leave and start doing my job but the name RAMLAND was always there for me and I remember the time that why I started. The name itself has a lot of power.

What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?

Actually every day I learn something new since I have started my company but now as if we talk about 3 lessons so here they are:

(1) No matter what, you need to trust yourself and keep on working hard and smart. Don’t seek support from others, do whatever makes you happy, in order to build something new one has to face a lot of hurdles and struggle. You yourself must be so confident that what you are bringing to the table.

No one including your own family doesn’t support you if you are not earning anything so better keep going and keep hustling everyday. Don’t just sit without doing anything, work is worship. Money is everything.

(2) Consistency is the key, everyday can’t be motivating being an entrepreneur, but one must stick to the routine, choose discipline over motivation and follow it.

(3) Try to speak less and stay away from the negative energies, your own parents might become very toxic for you and it’s very difficult to nurture in that environment so you need to distance yourself from the family and friends who you feel like they are toxic and traumatic for you. It’s very much necessary for the development and growth for business and self.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

I will say it straight that there are many factors but if you really have to have the key elements then to me these are the ones:

(a) Accepting & Loving myself

(b) Responsibility for my actions

(c) Standing up for myself

(d) Resourcefulness

(e) Curiosity

(f) Positive Attitude

(g) Taking massive action (execution) with consistency and belief

(h) networking

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

One must be consistent and try to explore more and more so that you get to know your passion and Dnt limit yourself that we can do this much only, NO, I think a human can do multiple things and tasks at a time and can be talented in more than one vertical, so keep doing work and try new works and do what you like, choose that area for your career which you think has more power and expertise for you.

Don’t go for it because your friend is also doing or your parents want you to do it. Life is short look for a bigger picture and opt for that work which you love to do and makes money out of it and be unique. There is so much to be shared, but this conversation limits how much I can communicate on this platform. Students and young professionals regularly reach out to me on LinkedIn with their specific queries.
