Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

I am a multi-faceted professional based in London, UK, fueled by a passion for Mental Wellness, Entrepreneurship, Special/Inclusive Education, Mentoring/Counseling, and creating a Positive Social Impact Globally.

In 2023, I initiated the Global Mental Wellness Mission, Maxable Global, a comprehensive initiative dedicated to raising awareness and destigmatizing mental health issues worldwide for all ages and genders. I aspire to Educate, Empower, and build a Supportive Global Community prioritizing Mental Wellbeing for All.

My personal experiences with mental and physical health challenges have been the driving force behind my current mission. My professional expertise spans Trauma-Informed Care Practices, Counseling Skills, Mentoring, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques, Child Psychology, Training, and cultivating Mental Wellness in workplace settings.

With a solutions-focused approach, I integrate Multidisciplinary Strategies to Holistically Nurture Individual and Organizational Mental Fitness. I am a seasoned Educationist with extensive experience in Special and Inclusive Education, Montessori methods and Early Years, and I have worked as a trainer, equipping carers and professionals with the skills to support children with special needs, including those with hidden disabilities.

Advocating for inclusive learning environments is a cornerstone of my philosophy. Complementing this mission, with over four decades of Entrepreneurial experience spanning industries like garments and restaurants, I have cultivated Business Acumen and Leadership Skills. I leverage my diverse background as an Advisor and Mentor for small businesses, having been appointed as a Government Approved Mentor with the Help to Grow scheme in the UK.

I am passionate about fostering inclusive dialogues, providing guidance, and empowering others to unlock their full potential – be it entrepreneurs, professionals, children/caregivers, or those on personal growth journeys.
My role is that of a catalyst, helping individuals and communities thrive amidst adversities.

How did you discover your passion?

My passion for the global mental wellness mission stems from a confluence of personal experiences and an inherent desire to help others. From an early age, I have been driven by a deep-rooted inclination to share knowledge and support those around me. This altruistic nature has been a guiding force throughout my life, fueling my commitment to making a positive impact.

However, my dedication to mental health awareness and advocacy took on a profound significance when I embarked on my own challenging personal journey with physical and mental health struggles. Navigating the complexities of these experiences allowed me to gain first-hand insight into the isolating and overwhelming nature of mental health issues.

The loneliness and emptiness I encountered during this arduous path ignited a fierce determination to ensure that no one else would have to endure such a solitary battle.

As I began extending a compassionate hand to others facing similar adversities, I discovered a profound sense of healing and purpose. Not only did I find the act of supporting others therapeutic, but I also witnessed the transformative power of empathy and guidance in their lives. This realization solidified my conviction that raising mental health awareness and fostering a supportive global community was not merely a worthy cause but a vital necessity.

Driven by an unwavering commitment to education, empowerment, and destigmatization, I embarked on the Global Mental Wellness Mission, Maxable Global. This comprehensive initiative is a culmination of my lifelong passion for helping others, sharing knowledge, and creating a positive social impact on a global scale.

By leveraging my personal experiences, professional expertise, and a solutions-focused approach, I aspire to nurture a world where mental wellbeing is prioritized, embraced, and celebrated without fear or prejudice.

Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?

Despite the immense challenges that often arise when pursuing a cause as vast and complex as raising global mental health awareness, several key factors keep me motivated and steadfast in my pursuit:

1) The Power of Personal Connection: Every time I have the opportunity to connect with someone who has been impacted by mental health struggles, whether through direct support or by sharing their story, I am reminded of the profound difference this mission can make in individual lives. These personal connections serve as a powerful driving force, reminding me of the real people behind the statistics and the tangible impact my efforts can have.

2) Unwavering Belief in the Cause: My passion for mental wellness and destigmatization is deeply rooted in my own lived experiences and the transformative journey I have undergone. This personal connection to the cause instils an unwavering belief in its importance and necessity. Even in the face of setbacks or obstacles, my conviction in the vital need for mental health advocacy remains resolute, fueling my determination to push forward.

3) Inspiration from Those Who Overcame: I draw immense inspiration from the countless individuals who have faced and overcome mental health challenges, emerging as beacons of resilience and hope. Their stories serve as a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the profound impact that support, understanding, and destigmatization can have. Each triumph over adversity reinforces my belief that the work I am doing can and does make a meaningful difference, propelling me to continue even when the path ahead seems daunting.

By drawing strength from personal connections, an unshakable belief in the cause, and the inspiring stories of those who have triumphed over mental health struggles, I remain steadfast in my commitment to the Global Mental Wellness Mission. These driving forces serve as a constant reminder of the profound impact this work can have and the vital necessity of persevering, even in the face of formidable challenges.

What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?

Embrace Vulnerability: For a long time, I struggled with the notion of vulnerability, perceiving it as a weakness to be hidden away. However, through my personal experiences with mental and physical health challenges, I came to understand the profound strength that lies in embracing vulnerability. It is in acknowledging our struggles, fears, and imperfections that we find the courage to seek support, connect with others on a deeper level, and cultivate empathy and compassion. Vulnerability has taught me the importance of authenticity, self-acceptance, and the power of shared human experiences in fostering healing and growth.

Cultivate Resilience: Life’s journey is marked by obstacles, setbacks, and adversities that can often feel overwhelming. However, through these challenges, I have learned the invaluable lesson of resilience. Resilience is not about avoiding hardship but rather developing the inner fortitude to navigate through it, adapt, and emerge stronger on the other side. It is a mindset that acknowledges the inevitability of difficulties while simultaneously cultivating the belief in one’s ability to overcome them. Resilience has taught me the importance of perseverance, flexibility, and the power of reframing challenges as opportunities for growth and self-discovery.

Prioritize Empathy and Compassion: In a world that often emphasizes individualism and self-interest, I have learned the profound importance of empathy and compassion. By deeply understanding and resonating with the experiences of others, we forge meaningful connections, break down barriers, and create a ripple effect of kindness and support. Empathy has taught me the value of actively listening, suspending judgment, and approaching every interaction with an open heart and mind. Compassion, on the other hand, has instilled in me the desire to alleviate suffering and contribute positively to the lives of others, whether through direct action or by fostering a more inclusive and understanding society.

These three lessons – embracing vulnerability, cultivating resilience, and prioritizing empathy and compassion – have shaped my worldview, guided my actions, and fortified my commitment to the Global Mental Wellness Mission. They serve as constant reminders of the strength that lies in authentic connection, perseverance in the face of adversity, and the transformative power of kindness and understanding.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

True success is a holistic journey that encompasses personal growth, resilience, and a commitment to making a positive impact. Here are what I believe to be the essential keys to success.

Cultivate Self-Awareness and Authenticity: Success begins with a deep understanding of oneself – one’s values, strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. By embracing authenticity and aligning our actions with our true selves, we lay the foundation for a fulfilling and purposeful life. Self-awareness allows us to make intentional choices, navigate challenges with integrity, and build meaningful connections with others.

Develop a Growth Mindset: Embracing a growth mindset is crucial for sustained success. It involves recognizing that our abilities and potential are not fixed but rather can be developed through dedication, effort, and a willingness to learn from failures. A growth mindset fosters resilience, adaptability, and a perpetual thirst for knowledge, enabling us to navigate the ever-changing landscape of life and continuously evolve.

Nurture Emotional Intelligence: Success is not solely determined by intellectual prowess or technical skills; it also hinges on our ability to understand, manage, and navigate the complexities of human emotions – both our own and those of others. Emotional intelligence enables us to build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and navigate challenging situations with empathy and diplomacy, ultimately enhancing our personal and professional experiences.

Embrace Perseverance and Resilience: The path to success is rarely linear or free from obstacles. It is our ability to persevere in the face of adversity, learn from setbacks, and bounce back with renewed determination that separates those who achieve lasting success from those who falter. Resilience equips us with the mental fortitude to weather storms, adapt to changing circumstances, and ultimately emerge stronger and wiser.

Prioritize Purpose and Impact: True success extends beyond personal achievements; it is rooted in a sense of purpose and a desire to contribute positively to the world around us. By aligning our efforts with a greater cause or mission, we imbue our pursuits with meaning and create a lasting legacy that transcends individual accomplishments. A focus on impact ensures that our successes resonate deeply and have the power to inspire and uplift others.

These keys to success – self-awareness, a growth mindset, emotional intelligence, perseverance, and a commitment to purpose and impact – form an interconnected tapestry that guides us toward a life of fulfilment, growth, and meaningful contribution. By embracing these principles, we not only increase our chances of achieving our goals but also cultivate the wisdom and resilience necessary to navigate life’s complexities with grace and leave a lasting, positive mark on the world around us.

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

To students and young professionals aspiring for a successful career, I would offer the following advice:

Cultivate Passion and Purpose: Identify your true passions and interests early on. A career driven by genuine enthusiasm and a sense of purpose will not only fuel your motivation but also contribute to your overall fulfilment and satisfaction. Don’t be afraid to explore diverse paths and opportunities until you find the right fit.

Embrace Continuous Learning: Success in today’s rapidly evolving world demands a commitment to lifelong learning. Stay curious, seek out new knowledge and skills, and be open to stepping out of your comfort zone. Invest in your personal and professional growth through formal education, training programs, or self-study.

Develop Resilience and Adaptability: The path to a successful career is rarely linear; it will inevitably present challenges, setbacks, and unexpected turns. Cultivate resilience by developing a growth mindset and viewing obstacles as opportunities for growth. Embrace adaptability by remaining flexible and open to pivoting your approach or even your career trajectory when circumstances demand it.

Build a Strong Network: Nurture meaningful connections with professionals in your field, mentors, and peers. A robust network can provide valuable insights, guidance, and potential opportunities. Actively participate in industry events, join professional associations, and engage in mentorship programs to expand your circle and learn from the experiences of others.

Prioritize Emotional Intelligence: Technical skills alone are not enough for long-term career success. Develop your emotional intelligence by cultivating self-awareness, empathy, and effective communication skills. Understanding and managing emotions, both your own and those of others, will contribute to building stronger relationships, navigating conflicts, and leading with authenticity.

Seek Diverse Experiences: Embrace opportunities that expose you to diverse perspectives, cultures, and ways of thinking. Stepping outside your comfort zone and immersing yourself in new environments will broaden your horizons, enhance your problem-solving abilities, and cultivate the adaptability essential for thriving in a globalized world.

Maintain a Balanced Perspective: While ambition and dedication are vital, it’s equally important to strike a healthy balance between your professional and personal life. Prioritize self-care, nurture relationships, and pursue interests outside of work to avoid burnout and maintain a sense of fulfilment beyond your career.

Remember, a successful career is not just about reaching milestones or accumulating accolades; it’s about aligning your efforts with your values, continuously evolving, and making a positive impact. Embrace the journey, stay true to yourself, and always strive to learn and grow.
