Let’s learn more about her background, her inspiring journey so far and her advice for our growing community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Nisha:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
I am a Freelance Counseling Psychologist, Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, and Law of Attraction Practitioner with a deep passion for helping individuals unlock their full potential. Beyond my profession, I have a keen interest in running, meditation, adventure, reading books, and numerology, all of which shape my approach to holistic well-being.
My academic journey has been diverse—I hold a Law Bachelor of Academic Law from Mysore University, a B.Ed from MD University, Rohtak, an MBA from Symbiosis University, and an MA in Psychology from IGNOU. Each of these disciplines has enriched my understanding of human behaviour, resilience, and personal growth.
However, my path to success was far from easy. I got married at a young age to an Army officer, which meant frequent relocations to remote areas of India. Pursuing my career under these circumstances was a challenge, especially after having two children and facing discouragement from my family. Yet, I remained determined. I continued my education despite the odds, completing multiple degrees and certifications along the way.
I started my career as a teacher and then transitioned into a school counsellor, but I soon realized I wanted to work with individuals of all ages. Expanding my horizons, I began working on various online counselling platforms, hospitals, and special lectures in the defence sector.
I have also delivered talks and workshops in colleges across India on topics like Positive Thinking, Mental Resilience, and Personal Growth.
Today, my journey stands as a testament to perseverance, self-belief, and the power of a growth mindset. Through my work, I aim to inspire and empower individuals to overcome their limitations and create the life they truly desire.
How did you discover your passion?
I discovered my passion after reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. This book gave me immense hope and made me realize that the true power lies within us. While people around us can influence us—positively or negatively—it is ultimately our own beliefs and mindset that shape our reality. Through repetition and conviction, if we can train our minds to align with our desires, those desires begin to manifest in our lives.
However, many people misunderstand this concept, believing that thoughts alone are enough. The truth is, the information we absorb daily through our five senses plays a crucial role in shaping our thoughts until they become part of our subconscious programming. What we see, hear, read, and experience repeatedly influences our internal dialogue, ultimately directing the course of our lives.
Once I was able to transform my own life using these principles, I felt a deep calling to help others do the same. This realization led me to pursue counselling, coaching, and motivational speaking, empowering individuals with the same techniques that changed my life.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
“You can’t always rely on motivation, but you can train your mind to be disciplined.”
What keeps me going during tough times is my daily routine of meditation, running, and yoga. Each morning, I start my day with meditation, which helps me stay centred and focused. After that, a run followed by yoga energizes me and sets a positive tone for the day.
Additionally, motivational videos play a significant role in keeping me inspired. I often listen to thought leaders like Dr. Joe Dispenza, Bruce Lipton, Bob Proctor, BK Shivani, Himesh Madan, and Dandapani. Their insights on mindset, discipline, and personal growth help me navigate challenges with resilience and a strong sense of purpose.
Through this combination of daily discipline and continuous learning, I have trained my mind to stay strong even when motivation wavers.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
The 3 most important Life Lessons which I have learned are:
1. The Power of Waking Up Early – Waking up early gives you valuable extra time to invest in yourself. It allows you to focus on self-improvement activities like meditation, yoga, and personal development, setting a positive and productive tone for the day.
2. The Importance of Discipline – “You can’t be MOTIVATED all the time but you can train your mind to be DISCIPLINED ”. Training your mind to be disciplined brings structure, productivity, and long-term success. When you stay disciplined, you naturally feel more motivated, which helps release feel-good hormones like serotonin and dopamine, enhancing both mental and physical well-being.
3. The Role of Physical Activity – Incorporating meditation and regular physical activity into my routine has significantly improved my overall well-being. It keeps me calm, happy, and energetic, fostering both mental clarity and emotional balance.
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
In my opinion, there are many keys to success, but a few important ones are:
1. Stand Up for Yourself – Have confidence in your decisions and take responsibility for your actions. Success begins when you believe in yourself and advocate for your goals.
2. Self-Love and Self-Worth – Prioritize yourself, respect your time and energy, and set healthy boundaries. When you value yourself, others will too.
3. Master Your Senses – Be mindful of what you watch, listen to, read, and the company you keep. Your thoughts and environment shape your mindset, so surround yourself with positivity and wisdom.
4. Persistence – Success rarely comes overnight. Stay committed to your goals, even when faced with challenges or failures. Consistency is key.
5. Curiosity and Continuous Learning – Always be eager to learn and grow. Curiosity fuels innovation and keeps you ahead in life.
6. Positive Attitude – A strong mindset and optimistic outlook help overcome obstacles and attract opportunities. How you perceive challenges determines your success.
7. Discipline and Time Management – Success comes from daily habits, not just motivation. Being disciplined and managing time effectively ensures steady progress.
8. Resilience – Learn to bounce back from failures and setbacks. Every failure is a lesson that brings you closer to success.
9. Strong Work Ethic – Hard work, dedication, and perseverance create lasting success. Stay focused and put in the effort.
10. Networking and Relationships – Surround yourself with inspiring, successful, and like-minded people. Building strong connections can open doors to new opportunities.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Advice for Students and Young Professionals on Building a Successful Career – The best advice is to follow your passion rather than simply chase societal trends.
Choose a career that truly excites you, because when you deeply love what you do, success—whether in the form of recognition, financial stability, or professional growth—naturally follows.
To achieve this:
> Start your day early with meditation or mindfulness to enhance focus and clarity.
> Follow a structured schedule and stay disciplined in your efforts.
> Work hard to pursue your passion, but also make time for relaxation and self-care.
> Stay present in the moment instead of constantly worrying about the future. Overthinking can lead to anxiety and lower confidence, ultimately affecting your productivity.
> Success is a journey, and the key is to balance hard work with mental and emotional well-being. Stay consistent, keep learning, and trust the process.
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
What Makes My Journey Satisfying and Exciting:
I find immense joy in understanding people’s challenges and contributing to positive changes in their lives. Seeing my clients transform and receive their heartfelt feedback is incredibly fulfilling.
One of the most exciting aspects of my journey is delivering lectures to large audiences and having the opportunity to inspire and impact many lives at once. The energy of the crowd and the knowledge that I am making a difference gives me immense pleasure.
I am naturally curious and always eager to learn something new. Whether it’s exploring new ideas, engaging in physical activities like running and dancing or practising meditation, every moment of my life feels exciting and enriching.
My journey is not just a career—it’s a passion that makes my life truly meaningful and fulfilling!
