Nishant is an Entrepreneur, Leader, E-commerce Expert, Consultant and Mentor. He is the Founder of Shopatone Online Store Pvt Ltd. Let’s learn more about his inspiring journey, his background and his advice for our growing community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Nishant:
Talk us through your background and your journey as an entrepreneur, please;
I did my schooling from DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL and further pursued engineering from the prestigious GIANI ZAIL SINGH PUNJAB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY CAMPUS in BATHINDA, PUNJAB (a govt. institution).
I was a passionate individual from the beginning and always aspired to be one of the youngest achievers by delivering high performance in all walks of life.
To add to my skills and knowledge, I was posted as a site engineer in GLOBAL TECHNOCRAFTS PVT. LTD., i.e, Supervising complete site and management of site and work which is now very necessary in all fields of work.
I represented my college and school in many competition as basketball, football, modelling and management of university functions. They put tremendous responsibility on my shoulder because of my hard work and smart work.
I have always been very passionate about managing something on my own that can solve major management problems.”
After resigning from my old job, I, with my father, opened a retail shop of shoes and clothes as NAYADER SHOES AND COLLECTIONS in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, U.P. Along with it I started my preparation for Indian civil services from 2015 till 2021. But unfortunately, I did not clear it. But I never stopped at one point.
What attracts you towards entrepreneurship instead of a corporate career?
Last December 2021, I was started researching about e-commerce business and how it can be processed It takes a lot of courage, planning, perseverance, hard work, teamwork, combined with good strategy & execution skills.
Thanks to my mentor Mr AJAY KUNDALIYA, VICE-PRESIDENT (DNA VENTURES CAPITAL LTD.), my friend Mr ARUN NISHAD (EX-AMAZONIAN EMPLOYEE) and my wife who help me in every steps Mrs VAISHALI SINGH (DIRECTOR OF SHOPATONE) who gave me valuable input to make the journey a lot easier for me.
‘Shopatone Online Store PVT LTD.’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving?
Shopatone will be an experience for an ordinary customer who faces many problems during online shopping.
Mainly we at Shopatone have a vision of uplifting street vendors to the online stores by making their GST NO. and providing an online platform to sell their product with zero per cent commission.
STREET-TO-STORE is our vision and same-day delivery is our mission.”
During this COVID-19 crisis, what are the measures you have undertaken to continue your business without disruption?
As we step into a non-essential segment, we plan to work under the covid guidelines and contribute to society. Following protocols and keeping customers safe will be our topmost priority.
How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?
Supply and deliver on time the myths, stereotypes about e-commerce journey, to become productive and have the courage to make it possible. To understand customer’s feelings of ordering an order and getting before time is a happiness point for us, with the same feeling is my drive to work in this field.
I believe in TEAMWORK and that’s the first principle in Shopatone that all follows. I believe all people are capable of change. It is important to understand people are shaped by their experiences and circumstances.
At Shopatone, we envision a world in which all people have access to happiness that can improve their shopping and faith in the digital market.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
My life daily goes around my children, wife, sister and parents. These buddies are my daily motivation. Besides them jack ma, warren buffet and ratan tata.
What are some of the strategies that you believe has helped you grow as a person?
There are a few:
(1) Being mindful
(2) Always being resourceful
(3) Taking extreme ownership and responsibility for my actions Courage
(4) Ability to take risks & venture into uncharted territories.
(5) Exercising daily.
(6) Helping needy one
(7) Fighting with daughter
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
I will say it straight that there are many factors but if you really have to have the key elements then to me these are the ones:
> Accepting & Loving myself.
> Responsibility for my actions
> Standing up for myself
> Resourcefulness
> Curiosity
> Positive Attitude
> Taking massive action (execution) with consistency and belief.
> Believing in self and team
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Points to remember:
– Learn new skills and practice them daily.
– Be ready to take risks
– Life is not easy, so make it easy by doing smart work
– Invest money at an early age
– Invest your time with healthy and positive people
– Get 100km away from negative people
– Be smart, Be smart, Be smart
– Exercise daily
– Sleep 7-8 hours
– Eat healthy food sometimes junk food
– Aim high, live high, become high
