Excerpts from our exclusive interview with him:
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your startup please;
I am a mechanical engineer with 26 years of experience in Steel Industry which was primarily in Sales, Marketing and Business Development profiles. Having spent over 26 years in the steel industry, I started my own startup – TIMIOS TECHNICAL AND MANAGEMENT SERVICES PVT LTD. We are into consulting, Steel trading, PEB and Steel Building construction. We are pioneers in providing a fully coordinated and engineered solution from one source. Our team of technical and management experts caters a wide range of engineering and management consultancy needs. To ensure outstanding service delivery, TIMIOS has nurtured world class practices in design and development. Consequently, every service we provide exhibits that we are a process-driven company
How do you find the industry/niche that you’re in?
Our consulting field is unique. My expertise and deep knowledge about the industry gives us an edge over other key players. So, getting the customers is very easy because I have built the trust with the customers and they respect our high standards of services.
As far as steel trading is concerned, it’s highly competitive. Have to struggle to get into customer confidence to get orders. And since the market is going down, it’s more challenging to work over here. Hoping to get the things better in near future.
What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation?
My source of motivation is go to the office first and start talking to people like customers, future customers and non-customers also. To me, every day is a learning experience and that learning motivates me a lot. Apart from that, I search for success daily. And that motivates me a lot.
What is one strategy that you believe has helped grow your startup?
In my journey so far, what has helped me immensely is my honesty in work, planning and execution to perfection.
How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?
I believe in god and work under his guidance. When in pressure, I try to work more and more. I don’t make drastic decisions when I am under pressure or stress. I try to be cool and make decisions only with a fresh mind. When I get involved in work, I usually don’t take pressure on my head.
In your opinion what are the keys to entrepreneurial success?
Hard work, dedication, Short term plans and long term goals. And above all, dream BIG and work towards the fulfilment of that dream
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to Dream Big, Think Big and Make a Route Map towards achieving your goals.
Always stick to your goal. In between, your plan may have to revise the plan and revisit your strategy due to various reasons but don’t change the goal. Work towards that and one day you will achieve success for sure.
