Let’s learn more about her background, her journey and her advice for our community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Pallavi:

Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

My journey as a Communication coach began with a deep passion for language and communication. After earning my degree in English Literature, I pursued a TESOL certification, which opened the doors to teaching English to a variety of learners from different backgrounds.

Over the years, I’ve taught both children and adults, from beginners to advanced learners, and each experience has enriched my teaching approach. I believe in making language learning practical, engaging, and relevant to my students’ lives.

One of my proudest moments was helping a student, who initially lacked confidence, pass her IELTS exam and secure a dream job. As I continue on this path, I am committed to evolving as a trainer and empowering more students to achieve their language goals.

How did you discover your passion?

I discovered my passion for teaching English through a combination of experiences that slowly revealed how much I enjoyed helping others communicate and express themselves. It started when I volunteered to help a few non-native English speakers improve their language skills.

What began as informal conversations turned into structured lessons, and I realized how rewarding it was to watch them grow more confident in their speaking and writing abilities.

The turning point came when one of my students told me how much our lessons had improved his daily interactions at work and in his personal life. I realized then that teaching English wasn’t just about grammar and vocabulary—it was about empowering people to connect with the world around them.

From that moment, I knew I wanted to dedicate myself to teaching, not only because I loved language, but because of the difference it could make in others’ lives. The joy of watching someone succeed in mastering a new language made me realize this was my true calling.

Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?

What keeps me going, even when things get tough, is the genuine sense of purpose I find in helping others unlock their potential through language.

Teaching English is not just about the lessons—it’s about watching students grow in confidence, knowing that what they’re learning can open doors for them, whether that’s a new job, academic achievement, or simply the ability to communicate in a new environment.

The moments of breakthrough, when a student grasps a concept they’ve struggled with, are incredibly rewarding. Seeing the impact that learning English has on their lives—whether it’s passing an important exam, landing a job, or just feeling more confident in daily interactions—reminds me why I started this journey. That sense of fulfilment gives me the energy to push through the tough times.

Additionally, I find that the challenges themselves are opportunities for growth. Every difficult situation teaches me something new—whether it’s finding new methods to explain a concept or learning to be more patient and adaptable. This constant evolution as a teacher keeps me motivated.

Lastly, the connections I build with students, and the knowledge that I am helping to make a positive impact on their lives, make the challenges worth it.

What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?

1) Resilience is Key to Growth – Life is full of challenges, but I’ve learned that resilience—bouncing back from setbacks—is what drives personal growth. When things don’t go as planned, whether in my professional or personal life, I’ve realized that it’s how I respond that matters most. Failure isn’t the end, but a stepping stone to improvement. Every obstacle has taught me patience, adaptability, and the importance of staying committed to my goals.

2) The Power of Communication – Communication goes beyond just speaking; it’s about truly understanding others. I’ve learned the importance of listening actively and expressing myself clearly, whether in personal relationships or as an English trainer. Misunderstandings and conflicts often arise from poor communication, so mastering it is key to building strong connections and navigating life effectively. Being able to communicate well also opens doors and creates opportunities.

3) Continuous Learning is Essential – The world is always evolving, and so are we. I’ve realized that no matter how much I think I know, there’s always more to learn. Whether it’s improving my skills as a teacher, gaining new perspectives from others, or learning from my own experiences, staying curious and open to learning has been crucial. It keeps life interesting and allows me to keep growing both personally and professionally.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

In my opinion, the keys to success lie in a combination of hard work, resilience, and having a clear sense of purpose. Consistency in effort, even when facing setbacks, is essential for long-term growth.

It’s also crucial to stay adaptable and learn from failures, as challenges are inevitable on the path to success. Setting clear goals helps maintain focus, while continuous learning and self-improvement keep you evolving.

Finally, surrounding yourself with supportive relationships and staying passionate about what you do provide the motivation needed to push through difficult times

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

For students and young professionals aiming for a successful career, it’s crucial to set clear goals and create a plan to achieve them while remaining adaptable to change. Building a strong network and seeking mentorship can provide valuable support and opportunities.

Embrace lifelong learning to stay relevant in a constantly evolving job market, and focus on developing both technical and soft skills like communication and teamwork. Finally, stay passionate and resilient, as enthusiasm for your work will help you overcome challenges and drive you towards success.

There is so much to be shared, but this conversation limits how much I can communicate on this platform. Students and young professionals regularly reach out to me on LinkedIn with their specific queries.

Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?

What makes my journey satisfying and exciting is the constant opportunity to make a meaningful impact on others’ lives. Watching students grow in confidence and skill, and seeing their achievements unfold, brings immense fulfilment. Each lesson is a chance to explore new ideas and approaches, keeping the work dynamic and engaging.

The ongoing learning and personal growth I experience as an educator also keep me motivated. The blend of personal development, helping others succeed, and the ever-evolving nature of teaching makes the journey both rewarding and invigorating.
