As part of our quest to get you meaningful and powerful stories from India and around the world, this week we invited yet another Leader and Coach – Praveen Divakar for an exclusive interview with BrilliantRead Media. Praveen is an Entrepreneur, Holistic Health Coach, Wellness Trainer, Mentor and ChangeEnabler. He is the Founder of Tatva Shudhi. Let’s read more about his inspiring journey, his background and his advice for our growing community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Praveen:
Talk us through your background and your journey, please;
Born in a Defence Personnel’s home, I did my schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya in different cities as my father was transferred every few years. After my graduation, I joined the Merchant Navy.
I have spent 8 years in the Merchant Navy navigating and exploring the World and have travelled to 35 Countries. These exposures to new places, people and cultures have not only given me a fresh and broader perspective towards life but they have also been an enriching and learning experience.”
My journey in spirituality started when I was introduced to the Beej Mantras at the age of 12 and since then I developed an interest in the field of spirituality which further led me to study the Ancient Scriptures.
I have received initiation (Deeksha) in various forms of Sacred Ancient Beej Mantras, Yantras and other Meditation techniques from different Gurus of the Avdhut lineage.
As I started going deeper into this field, I also realized the importance of the Right Food and Right Exercise and the influence it has on our overall health and well-being physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.”
With this understanding, I learnt about the powerful Science & Wisdom of Food as per Naturopathy & Ayurveda and furthered my knowledge in the field of Vedic Nutrition, Yogic Diet, Yoga, Pran Kriyas, Sukshma Kriyas, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Martial Arts and Breathing Techniques.
What encouraged you to create a ‘Health & Wellness’ platform?
Being brought up in the Indian Airforce Campus, discipline and healthy habits were a part of my upbringing.
Since childhood, health & wellness has always been an important part of my life. My healthy habits allowed me to play various sports and also helped me in my Merchant Navy job which was both physically and mentally demanding.
I started guiding my friends to help them achieve their health and fitness goals. In the process, I started accumulating and upgrading my knowledge about the various modalities which can truly influence a person’s overall wellness be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.”
All this together encouraged me to have a platform where we can guide people to achieve and create a healthier and happier version of themselves.
How is your health & wellness platform different from others and how can one benefit from it?
In my experience, being close to Nature is a key ingredient to not only achieve optimum wellness but to also avoid and to some extent also reverse various unwanted health issues. Nature is an integral part of our well-being.
We believe in Holistic Health as just Nutrition or just exercise is not going to give you complete health. Even your mental and emotional states contribute to your illness and even wellness.
So Tatva Shudhi is a platform where we focus on the 4 pillars of Health & wellness – Food, Water, Exercise & Meditation, all based on the Science of our Vedic Wisdom to help you become holistically (physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually) healthy.”
As we are talking about Health, what would you like to say about the various health issues youngsters are facing today?
The young generation of today is facing many health issues like Obesity, Diabetes, Lung Problems, Blood Pressure, Heart Issues, PCOD, PCOS, thyroid etc. due to their sedentary lifestyles.
And these issues do not come in one day nor do they come from some outside source. These diseases start from within. So, if anyone is looking to overcome or even heal themselves, it starts from within.
The young generation today should make health a priority along with their careers. Just give at least 40 minutes of exercise and following mindful eating practices will not only do miracles to their body and mind but they can also avoid many chronic diseases.
How challenging is it to create awareness about health?
What I find amusing about the young generation today is that though there is an awareness about health, it is more towards the aesthetics of health – meaning that youngsters feel that having six-pack abs or having muscles and a flat belly is considered healthy.
But that is not true. It is not necessary that a person having a fab and muscular body is healthy. Being healthy is more than just physical appearance. It also has to do with how you think, feel your energy levels throughout the day, do you feel positive and enthusiastic towards life, your peace of mind and all this together influences the strength of your immune system. After all, your immune system is the first and the last line of defence.
So, it is not just about eating healthy and working out, but also about eating right, feeling right and also working on your stress, because if you do not do anything about your stress, you are still going to be unhealthy.
So who can approach you and how?

They can approach by contacting us through our websites, emails or even our social media platforms.

What keeps you balanced and motivated?
I practice Tai Chi, Pranayam, Kalari Payattu and other Martial Arts to keep myself fit, balanced and motivated. I also believe in learning and updating myself – so I read and keep myself updated about the various research in the field of health and wellness.
We do not get many testimonials in written form because most people are not comfortable in sharing their health issues publicly and we respect that personal choice as well.
But we have cured many people; so when I see my clients become healthy and happy, it gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction which motivates me even more. And I believe – “Be like the SUN; Shine even if no one Thanks You”.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
Self-discipline, Integrity, Truthfulness and Straight Forwardness, in my opinion, are the basic ingredients you need to set up a career and become successful. But as the road to success is not devoid of failures, a balanced mind to accept the failures, having the courage to get back up and keep moving are extremely important as well.
If you are not balanced, you will fail even though you may get success. Because a career is just a part of your life. Not your life. So, everyone should work towards cultivating their minds. Because success is not just about money, it is also about peace.
Lastly, what message would you like to share with our readers?
India is a rich country of deep-rooted wisdom be it for any field, especially for health and wellness.
With the advancement of new technologies and while living in modern times and enjoying the same – it’s important to not forget our ancient wisdom and be in touch with our roots.”
There are many researches being done around the world on our ancient scriptures. Being a country of the Science of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Martial Arts, we are seeing more and more young children and adults facing many health issues. It’s time that we return to our roots. Let’s become healthy because healthy people make a healthy society and a healthy society makes a healthy nation!
