Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Priya;
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
I began working at TCS in 2013 and worked for over three years, but I felt something was missing. After getting married, I finally took a decision and quit my job in 2017.
At that time, I was confused, and things got more complicated. Having a baby made me realize the importance of financial independence for women. I made some wrong decisions thinking that it is the best decision but ended up losing a significant amount of money.
However, the positive side was that I started investing in myself and learning new things. I began learning about the Law of Attraction and discovered my passion for training. Eventually, I became a soft skills trainer. Excited about my newfound passion, I decided to start my own live courses on gratitude, which is a fundamental aspect of the Law of Attraction.
My first 4 am live session on Zoom was a hit, receiving great feedback from people I knew. I continued investing in my education to provide more value to those who enrolled in my sessions. I even completed my Ho’oponopono healer certification.
Now, I conduct sessions on gratitude and healing, helping people overcome challenges in their lives such as health, wealth, relationships, and careers. It brings me joy to witness positive changes and miracles happening in our sessions. Now, I’m proud to be a Soft Skill Trainer, assisting college students with their interview skills throughout Tamil Nadu. Moreover, I serve as a Gratitude Coach and a Ho’oponopono Healer.
How did you discover your passion as a ‘Trainer’?
At first, I didn’t know what I was really passionate about. I just liked making videos to raise awareness, and I shared them on WhatsApp to encourage women. I also did some training sessions on Zoom.
This got me into the training industry, and that’s when I began to figure out that training was my passion. I started learning and growing as a trainer from there.
How do you manage to keep going despite the challenges? What drives you?
Being a mom to two boys, balancing my passion for training with family is tough. As a trainer, I often had to travel across Tamil Nadu for weeks, and it was initially challenging.
I felt guilty as a mom, but then I realized I needed to be a role model for my kids. I want them to see that it’s okay to pursue your passion despite facing challenges.
Kids learn by watching, not just listening. So, it’s crucial to show them that going after what you want, even when it’s hard, is important. Thankfully, my family has been my biggest support throughout this journey, and I’m grateful for them.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
My family inspires me the most because I aim to give them wonderful opportunities and experiences, and that drives me to keep growing.
Additionally, when some women see my WhatsApp updates and find motivation, it fills me with pride. Knowing that I contribute to their smiles motivates me further to tackle and overcome challenges.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
There are a few:
> Investing in self-learning
> Taking 100% responsibility for our own life
> Persistence
> Being an Action Taker
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
I will say it straight that there are many factors but if you really have to have the key elements then to me these are the ones:
(a) Self-love
(b) Continuous Learning
(c) Self-Discipline
(d) Positive Mindset
(e) Prioritizing Time
(f) Show up everytime
