Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Priyanshu:

Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?

I am a psychologist, constantly learning and upgrading my skills to stay updated. My journey began after completing my post-graduation in clinical psychology from Dev Sanskriti University. I joined the “All India Women’s Conference” as a family counsellor.

Later, I served as a social worker and counsellor with Delhi Police in the Crime Against Women Cell. Although my job was prestigious, I felt unfulfilled. During the lockdown, I deepened my knowledge and expanded my work.

Today, I am a psychologist, motivational speaker, YouTuber, trainer, and PGT Psychology teacher. I run my own clinic, helping people heal and transform, while also providing training in schools, colleges, and corporates.

How did you discover your passion?

I discovered my passion through a deep sense of fulfilment I experienced when helping others. Over time, I noticed that people would often reach out to me during difficult times, even if we hadn’t spoken in a while, and I was able to guide them toward solutions.

The joy and satisfaction I felt from being able to support and uplift others made me realize that this is what I am meant to do. This sense of purpose inspired me to pursue a career where I could help people heal and grow, which ultimately led me to psychology and counselling.

Despite the challenges what keeps you going when things get tough?

What keeps me going during tough times is my unwavering belief in my purpose and the passion I have for helping others. Every challenge I face is an opportunity for growth, and I see it as a step closer to achieving my goals.

I’ve always wanted to create a unique identity for myself, where people know me by my name and my work. This desire for recognition drives me more than anything else. Once it takes hold, nothing else seems to matter.

Now, when challenges arise, I view them as opportunities to climb another step toward my aspirations. Though the journey is long, I am determined to reach where I’m meant to be. The fulfilment of overcoming obstacles and making a positive impact fuels me to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.

What are the three most important lessons you have learnt in your life?

At the age of 30, I was diagnosed with a slipped disc, at 31 with immunodeficiency, and at 32 with thyroid cancer. When we fall ill, even if it’s a physical illness, it impacts every aspect of our life—mental, financial, relationship, and social life. I, too, was affected in all these areas. However, during that time, I learned three of the most important lessons of my life.

First, I discovered the power of words. The way we speak and the words we choose have a profound impact on our lives. Until we use the right words, the right things won’t manifest.

Second, I learned the importance of books. When everything seems uncertain and you feel like there’s no support, books can become your best companions. They guide you and help you reach greater heights.

Lastly, I understood the power of manifestation. Believing in what you want and visualizing it with conviction can truly transform your reality. These three lessons have been pivotal in shaping who I am today.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

In my opinion, the key to success involves these essential principles:

1) Help Others

2) Stay Humble

3) Set Clear Goals

4) Avoid Judging Others

5) Maintain a Positive Mindset

6) Practice affirmation

7) Be an Action Taker

8) Build Strong Networks

What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?

Whether you are a student, a professional, a businessperson, or anyone else, success often hinges on being a good person. Your personality should reflect inner positivity, and your habits can either elevate or hinder your progress. Even small changes can lead to significant transformations in your life.

My advice is to gradually integrate positive habits into your routine. Incorporate physical exercise, read self-help books, seek knowledge, practice meditation, and express gratitude. You might feel you don’t have time for these habits, but starting with just two minutes a day can make a difference.

Begin by dedicating two minutes daily to reading a book. Even with just two minutes each day, you can complete a book in 6 to 8 months. The key is to start small and stay consistent. Your habits ultimately shape your future.

Last but not least. What about your journey me it satisfying/exciting?

In my journey, as I gradually began practising meditation, exploring spirituality, and connecting with my inner self, I started to experience a profound sense of satisfaction that is hard to put into words. This spiritual journey has not only enriched my own life but also fueled my desire to help others connect with their better selves.

When I see the positive impact on others and they share their happiness and gratitude with me, it provides me with immense satisfaction. Their joy and thanks are deeply rewarding and affirm the value of this journey and the work I do.
