Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
Well, It has been an exciting journey from Engineering to Astrology. My name is Purvi Bhatt, and I am an astrologer practising various branches of the occult arts in Ahmedabad. My journey into astrology has been anything but conventional. Born and brought up in Ahmedabad, I initially pursued a completely different path, studying mechanical engineering.
My upbringing was shaped by a diverse family background—my father was a government servant, and my mother, a dedicated teacher. Due to my father’s frequent job transfers, I spent much of my early life with my grandparents, which profoundly influenced who I am today.
Astrology runs deep in my family. My great-grandfather was a renowned astrologer who served the Bhavnagar state, and my grandmother continued his legacy, though she approached it more as a researcher rather than a professional practitioner. Growing up, I was surrounded by astrology and the occult, but it was something I appreciated from a distance. I never considered it as a career or even something I would actively pursue.
However, in 2016, my life took an unexpected turn. I was diagnosed with a severe neurological disorder, and the prognosis was grim. Surgery was recommended as the only way to alleviate my pain, but the chances of success were only 35 percent, with significant risks of memory loss and paralysis.”
During this dark time, my grandmother suggested that I explore the occult sciences, specifically astrology, as a way to understand and perhaps influence my condition, citing how Ketu often governs strange and unknown ailments. Following her advice, I enrolled in the Maharshi College of Rajasthan to study astrology.
This decision not only connected me with my ancestral roots but also brought about an unexpected miracle—my pain gradually subsided, and I managed to avoid the surgery entirely. This experience not only healed me physically but also set me on a new path. I discovered a passion and purpose in astrology that I never knew existed.
Today, I practice astrology professionally, drawing on both my personal experiences and my family’s rich legacy.”
Our audience would love to know about your Vision and Future Commitments?
My life is now fully dedicated to my occult studies, my institute, and my students. The knowledge I seek is invaluable, yet often misunderstood in today’s world.
I now strive to dispel misconceptions surrounding our true traditions, ethics, and beliefs, which offer profound insights into life’s deeper meanings.
The new generation deserves to discover the richness of this ancient knowledge, and I strive to be the bridge that connects them to this legacy, ensuring its essence is preserved, respected, and appreciated for the value it brings to our lives. Therefore, my mission is to make this wisdom accessible to everyone, even those who may initially overlook or question its relevance.
Despite the challenges what keeps you going when things get tough?
I’ve learned the importance of patience and that is my biggest lesson. Challenges and Opportunities both come to everyone, but recognizing and making the most of them requires personal growth and maturity.
What are your Growth Mantras? Do you believe a lot in Self-improvement and Self Learning?
Without the right mindset, opportunities may pass us by. Life continually teaches us, guiding us toward our purpose. While distractions abound, it’s never too late to rediscover our true passion. “Better late than never” rings true.
Always stay open to learning, but remain grounded in traditions and values. Growth without a solid foundation is not sustainable.
Respecting our cultural and ethical heritage is vital. If you find something that needs change, work to improve it rather than detaching from it completely. This is important not just for us but also for future generations. Our legacy carries forward only when we preserve and refine it thoughtfully.”
Yes, I strongly feel learning should never stop even after 15 years of marriage, my quest for fulfilment didn’t end. I ventured into the beauty industry, completed a specialization course, and later pursued a degree in arts and literature. Although I excelled in every field I explored, I constantly felt a sense of disharmony and lacked contentment
What made you dive into this Space? How important is Astrology in our daily lives?
Astrology, like other ancient sciences such as Ayurveda, is deeply personalized and unique to each individual. Unlike allopathy, where one pill can be prescribed for everyone with a headache, Ayurveda and astrology work differently, tailoring solutions specific to each person.
In astrology, there are 12 houses, 12 signs, and 9 planets, forming countless combinations that influence an individual’s life. People often see only one aspect—like the position of the Sun in their chart—and assume that this alone will guarantee success, such as securing a government job, simply because they’ve heard it from a video or someone else. However, astrology isn’t just about a single placement; it’s about the entire chart and how various combinations interact.
When the desired outcome doesn’t happen, many dismiss astrology as fake. My humble request to everyone is to understand that astrology is not merely a tool to predict the future.
It’s meant to guide you on when to take the right actions, much like how we use weather forecasts. If it’s going to rain, you carry an umbrella; if it’s cold, you wear a sweater. Science, including astrology, does not lie—it is our interpretation and understanding that matters.
So, rather than blaming astrology due to misconceptions or the influence of a few misguided individuals, I encourage everyone to learn and understand it genuinely. True knowledge opens the door to insights that can align you with the right time and actions in life.”
