We are aware of your contribution to the ecosystem, talk us through your background and your journey as a women entrepreneur, please;
I originate from a business-oriented background, and my path as a female entrepreneur has been both enterprising and filled with adventure. Coming from a conservative family, I initially faced resistance towards pursuing my entrepreneurial aspirations and was encouraged to join our family business.
However, determined to carve my own path, I embarked on a journey to establish my individual venture as an interior designer, which commenced 18 years ago. This journey has been one of resilience, creativity, and continual growth.
My journey in interior design has been a rollercoaster of hard work and fulfillment. Over the years, I’ve navigated through challenges and triumphs, shaping a career that’s immensely fulfilling.
Today, I proudly stand as an accomplished interior designer renowned for delivering comprehensive design solutions. With a background in teaching at the prestigious Rachna Sansad School of Interior Design in Mumbai, I infuse my projects with a dynamic and innovative spirit.
From initial concepts to final touches, I collaborate closely with clients, ensuring their vision comes to life in a way that reflects their lifestyle and the essence of the space. In residential design, I aim to create practical yet visually stunning spaces that exceed expectations. For commercial ventures, I go beyond aesthetics, considering branding and target audiences to design spaces that resonate with the core identity of the business.
Throughout every project, I uphold a commitment to excellence, delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines and budgets. It’s this dedication that has fueled my journey and garnered the trust of clients over the years.
With a portfolio boasting over 100+ successfully completed projects, I take pride in my ability to turn visions into reality. My design philosophy centers on client satisfaction, and I am dedicated to bringing a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics to every project I undertake.
‘Purvi Shah Interiors’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving?
For the longest time in my business years, I didn’t name my business and I just went with the flow, simply allowing my work to speak for itself. It wasn’t until a decade into the journey, with a solid foundation and a growing clientele, that I decided to embrace my own name as the brand. It was a decision rooted in authenticity and a desire to maintain the personal connection I had established with my clients.
In today’s age of social media and endless options, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and uncertain. That’s where I step in, offering clarity and guidance to help our clients navigate through the noise. With a keen focus on their preferences and budget, I ensure that every design decision aligns with their vision of a perfect home. “
My name is my brand and it resonates strongly with what I do. I take immense pride in it. In essence, we serve as lifestyle changers, working to understand our clients’ true needs and provide them with the lifestyle change they desire within their homes.
In the realm of residential spaces, confusion often arises from the influx of information via social media. We recognize this challenge and are committed to guiding our clients through the process, ensuring that their vision for a home is realized within their budget.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
The passion and love I have for my work are the driving forces behind every project I undertake. Bringing my creations to life and witnessing the joy and satisfaction they bring to my clients is what motivates me every day. Seeing the smiles and happiness on my clients faces keeps me going.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
The three important lessons learned in life are:
Resilience: Facing challenges head-on and bouncing back from setbacks is essential for personal growth and development.
Gratitude: It’s important to acknowledge and appreciate the support of those who have contributed to our success, whether it’s family members, colleagues, or even the unseen helpers in our lives. Practicing gratitude fosters humility and strengthens relationships.
Self-compassion: During times of difficulty or failure, maintaining mental and emotional well-being is crucial. Practicing self-compassion allows us to navigate through challenges with kindness and understanding towards ourselves.
These lessons have been instrumental in shaping my perspective and guiding me through life’s journey.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
The path to success is as unique as each individual, yet there are common principles that often pave the way. Clear goal-setting, coupled with relentless hard work and perseverance, forms the foundation. Cultivating a positive mindset and nurturing strong relationships further bolster progress.
Continuous self-improvement, alongside unwavering focus on priorities, serves as the compass guiding both business and personal growth. By these principles, individuals can chart a course towards success that is not only fulfilling but sustainable in the long run.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Hard work and hard work and hard work is the only way to move ahead on the ladder of success and growth.
I often liken the journey to a game of snakes and ladders, where success and failure propel us forward or set us back. However, it’s essential to remember that there are no shortcuts on this journey.
Cutting corners may seem tempting, but in the long run, they only lead to detours and delays. It’s crucial to adhere to the principles of integrity and diligence, ensuring that we navigate the path to success with honesty and determination, every step of the way. “
