As part of this endeavour, we invited Ranjana Sirohi for an exclusive interview with us. Ranjana is an Entrepreneur, Fashion Designer and Founder of Curative Creations. Let’s learn more about her background, journey and advice for our community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Ranjana:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
My journey has been one of evolution, resilience, and purpose. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Designing and degrees in Science, Education, Master’s in Literature.
Additionally, I’m a certified Global Career Counselor from UCLA. With over 27 years of experience in various fields, I have worn many hats—educator, event organizer, career counsellor, and now, the founder of Curative Creations, a sustainable fashion venture.
The turning point came in 2022, when I officially launched Curative Creations, combining my passion for fashion with a mission to empower rural artisans and soldiers’ wives. My venture isn’t just about creating eco-friendly fashion; it’s about providing a platform for marginalized communities to showcase their skills and sustain their livelihoods.
Along the way, my work has been recognized by esteemed dignitaries, including the Honorable President of India, and I have had the privilege of speaking at prominent events like the 71st Miss World event and the GlobalSpin Innovation Summit.
How did you discover your passion?
My passion was discovered through a combination of curiosity, creativity, and compassion. From an early age, I was passionate about recycling/upcycling to the extent that my dad used to call me kabadi wala 🫣.
I was very fascinated by the transformative power of art. Growing up, I often observed artisans and admired their dedication, but I also noticed the challenges they faced in sustaining their crafts.
It was The post-COVID era which fueled this passion, as I witnessed the environmental challenges which needed to be addressed urgently and the huge gap being prevalent between the conscious consumers and the local talent available to meet some of the issues easily.
Despite being talented and willing to learn more the soldiers wives I was interacting with had certain inhibitions. Empowering them to earn independently through sustainable fashion became my calling, blending creativity with social impact.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
The biggest source of motivation has been my values. And then the community of artisans and soldiers’ wives I work with. Their resilience, creativity, and unwavering spirit inspire me every day. Despite facing numerous challenges, they strive to create a better life for themselves and their families.
On a personal level, my family has been a constant pillar of support, encouraging me to chase my dreams and stand firm in my mission to make sustainable fashion a powerful tool for social change.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
Several strategies have contributed to my personal and professional growth:
Continuous Learning: Staying curious and updating my skills constantly has kept me relevant and innovative. I’ve recently completed 6 weeks of foundation of entrepreneurship course from IIM Bangalore.
Networking: Building meaningful relationships with like-minded individuals and organizations has opened doors to collaborations and growth opportunities.
Empathy: Understanding the needs and aspirations of the people I work with has shaped my approach to leadership and design.

Mindfulness: Practicing mindfulness and maintaining a work-life balance has helped me stay focused and motivated.
