Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Sanjoy:
We are aware of your contribution to the ecosystem, talk us through your background and your journey, please;
I studied in India and the US and have worked in 3 continents before deciding to start my own company.
Living in different countries gives one an excellent perspective on how the same issues can be tackled in different ways and what different cultural values. And yet, the problems that need to be resolved are the same, a single software product can be used all over the world.”
We have successfully designed and implemented software products for customers across the globe.
How did you find your passion and purpose and started working with it?
I tried many different avenues before I discovered computers. It all started with my reading a book on the BASIC programming language; I loved it, it made so much sense.
I enjoy creating software to resolve customer problems and sitting with them and designing a solution.”
I also enjoy the fact that in the software world, things change so rapidly; one is constantly learning.
How do you manage yourself and keep on going despite the challenges? What drives you?
One is not always motivated, there are ups and downs. It helps if you love the work and enjoy working with the team.
Discipline is important and ‘just showing up’ is half the battle. I find that daily pranayama and yoga help keep one’s mind clear of distractions.”
Please share with us – what has worked well for you so far?
It is extremely important to have a good team, that is the base. Customers value reliability (on-time quality delivery) and good support so make sure you provide that. These simple principles have worked for us, we have several customers who have been with us for more than ten years.
In your opinion what are the keys to success?
I don’t agree with the term “Keys to success”, there is no magic formula and success means different things to different people. If you love what you do and earn money from it too, isn’t that success already?
You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?
I enjoy what I do, it doesn’t feel like “work”. And I have a team of fantastic professionals who have worked together for a very long time; we help each other.
We would love to know your advice for all those starting out?
Take a leap of faith.
Starting something new is always daunting but make your decision and then tackle it bit-by-bit.
