Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Sonali:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
I’m a Fauji brat and a proud wife of a serving Army Officer. I have travelled across the country from Bangalore to Kupwara, Srinagar in the North and from Baroda to Gangtok, Sikkim in the East.
I stayed in Cantonments since I was born, studied in Army Schools, and later headed them as Principal. At the age of 19, I started my first job with CITIBANK in Delhi, after that, there was no turning back. Now I have more than 23+ years of experience
I have trained over 10,000 people in various industries like Banks, e-commerce, Educational Institutes, Chemical firms, Manufacturing Companies, Pharmaceutical Companies, Hospitals, etc. Currently, I’m associating with various clients and imparting training on soft skills.
How did you discover your passion?
I’ve always been an extrovert and a people person, I loved meeting and talking to people of all age groups. This gave me quite an edge in connecting with my audience. Meeting people and befriending them fast helped me chase my passion of being a TRAINER.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
The gratification I draw from my work is the biggest motivation that I have. When my participants can unravel the takeaways and compliment me for the session, that’s my biggest motivation.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
My attitude of not giving up has helped me tread in my journey always. My husband got posted to places that had no corporates or offices, so I began training teachers, students in schools and our very own families of army jawans and drew so much gratification by imparting to the organization my father and husband served in.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
I feel it’s very important to chase your dreams and passion intensely. Being resilient and persistent is the key. Success depends on what it means to YOU, whether it’s career growth, personal fulfillment, health or relationships.
