Interview With Subhajit Das | Chief Operating Officer at Mindmine

Subhajit Das | Chief Operating Officer at Mindmine

This week we spoke to yet another promising digital entrepreneur, Subhajit Das, who is the founder of Mindmine. His startup offers one stop solution for web development and print media services. He was always passionate about starting something on his own which he eventually did. Let’s read more about his journey!

Excerpts from our interview with Subhajit:

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your startup, please;

I am B.Tech engineer from West Bengal. I earlier worked as a SAP Support Technologist at Akzonobel India Limited. I always had an inclination towards entrepreneurship. I realised corporate is not for me since I wanted to build something on my own.

Now I’m an entrepreneur running my own company “Mindmine” –www.mindmine.co.in for the last 4.5 years.

My startup offers a range of Website Development and Print Media services for corporate clients. We are very much adaptive to the clients need whether there are products or in technology and deliver the best quality service.

Give us some background about Mindmine and why you chose something like this?

I belong from a business family, I had a dream to setup a business on my own from the beginning of my academic career. I had developed good knowledge and expertise in web development so I chose the industry on the basis of my own knowledge & ability to serve my clients.

Later on, I included an add-on to my service to a different segment of the business, that was print media. Now I’m delivering web development, graphic design and print support to all of my clients.

What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation?

So this is based on the reality which I had figured out at an early stage that entrepreneurship is one challenge where you can find the parameters of your depth.  It takes courage and potential in the market to start a company from the stage ‘ZERO’. I accepted the challenge.

But the actual motivation and the confidence comes from my mentor my elder brother Mr. Dibyendu Ghosh.

What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far?

I had never thought about the consequences before starting of my company. It’s very hard to tell that in India apart from the MNC’s or good companies no one is interested to own a website on their own particular domain name for their company to cataloguing their products/services on web media.

So this was the challenging thing I have ever faced to penetrate the client’s mind and to let them think about the web presence. However, 80% of them don’t realise that web media is the next big thing for the upcoming generation.

Subhajit Das | Chief Operating Officer at Mindmine

What comes first for you – money or emotions?

Money is definitely an important factor but the emotions come first, that is what I am actually doing for myself.

How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?

Pressure and Stress are the two big words which I was able to handle when I was an employee and was doing my job.

Now, these two are a lot more increasing because of the money I invested as an add-on. But it is part of the journey and I have full faith on my abilities that I would take it to the next level.

In your opinion what are the keys to success?

Never compromise with Honesty, Quality and Self Respect.

What advice would you give to someone starting out?

If you have a dream never think about the consequences just do it by yourself at your level best.
