Excerpts from our conversation with the founders of Vnaya:
Take us through Vnaya please, especially your plan to foray in the Indian space;
Vnaya was rebranded. It was earlier called E Online Tutors Inc and was incorporated in GA, the US & in India as E-Online tutors Pvt ltd. in the year 2012, with a pellucid foresight of creating value in the stream of Education. We have constantly been engaged in the pursuit of creating and providing ingenious solutions around K-12 education & parenting support.
We provide 1on1 online tutoring to K-12 grade students in the subjects of Math, Science & English in North America, Oceania, UK, Middle East, Singapore et al. Now we foray in India with our customized products and relevant experience to provide complete online education solutions to students in the current scenario of this pandemic. Along with this we also have on the offer, a multitude of short summer/spring/winter courses, coding courses, test preparation as well as customised assignment and project assistance and homework help.
How do you think COVID-19 would transform the education sector? How is India different from the west?
With the current dynamic world order which has unfolded itself in front of us in such an unfortunate manner, due to this pandemic, it is quite apparent that education and many other streams would not remain seemingly similar to what we know of them until recently. India definitely is no exception to it, where this age-old concept of imparting education is witnessing a magnitude of change which will continue even further.
Unlike the west, where online tutoring has been a game-changer since a long time now, this concept has suddenly panned out massively in India due to the ongoing circumstances. Suddenly schools & parents have had to succumb to the emerging new scenario of using & implementing technology for ensuring the continuity of their children’s education. As a set of parents, one is aware of how schools are coping up with abrupt usage of available random online lesson plans and teaching methodologies. The result, of course, is a set of many stressed parents who are confronted with the daunting task of ensuring right technology, hardware and software with no one to pave the way for them and an added pressure of getting the child to complete assignments online. And that is not all, we rather have put our endearing facilitators, teachers, into such a tough situation. They might not be proficient enough with EdTech but are top experts in their own streams, right now caught in a tight spot. Schools are looking for an end to end online education imparting solutions. Solutions drafted with a view to filling the gap created because of the absence of regular schooling. After all, that is how we have known to school all our lives!
Therefore, to solve the complexities back home in the need of the most crucial hour, we at Vnaya, decided to offer our 1on1 Online tutoring services to K-12 students in India in the subjects of Math, Science & English for CBSE, ICSE & IGCSE boards, with our corroborated systems and highly accomplished educators and academicians.
What are your plans and offerings as online education (Edtech) startup?
As an online education concern, we bring to this market a plethora of experience, grounding and learnings from the number of years spent in a similar stream overseas. All we know is to teach online duly! All we believe in is that education must serve as a spurring quest to improve life!
We also are the only organization in the world, offering FREE parenting support to the parents of school-going kids. Along with offering online tutoring to these kids, we ably assume responsibility to solve the parent-child-teacher equation, which leads to a definite acceleration of grades leading to a comprehensive growth of the child.
A renowned study states that 80% of a child’s success at school depends upon the learnings and education at home. Our proprietary product, “Porter Process” enables the parents to understand the natural learning style of the child which is unique to every child. Based on this understanding, our trained learning counsellors and leaders help parents develop with ways and eccentric techniques to deal with their kids. This helps to bring out the great inherent potential in these young learners and mutual growth in the parent-child relationship takes place. This helps in reducing the unnecessary stress of bringing up a child, where the parents usually adopt a trial and error method because of the dearth of right kind of erudition. What is your plan for the future and what is the way forward?
We have been able to diligently deliver more than 600k live 1on1 sessions since we started out. We have learnt the nuance of the industry & user behaviour, that we imply and practice. We are uniquely adept to serve the academic and parenting support solutions to families and further fortify it by learning every day regarding the youngsters as our biggest teachers. We at Vnaya, try to make learning fun, which is rather what it should be. Learning is amazing, it should not be a task for the child. Work is play and vice versa, so the child shouldn’t have to choose between the two!
We want to empower the child by genuinely embarking interest and willingness in him to learn. Vnaya aims at solving the new order with applying simple realistic solutions based on learning combined with technology but made adaptively and interestingly easy!
